The reasons behind why you did it are not important.
If you accept a ransom then you honor the ransom, failure to do so will mean many will see you and your corp as fighters without honor, oh and generally means most of the pirate corps out there (even if your not pirates) will hunt you down for giving them a bad name in general.
You give no one a reason to trust you our your corp again. You want a reaction? It won't be from IAC coming to hunt you down, it will be everyone else. Your signature image exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

Even pirates of old followed a pirate code.
If there wasn't one, would people ever pay ransoms? The pirate community band together to make sure those who kill their victims after paying a ransom are dealt with in order to insure the survival of their own business ventures. Go to wikipedia and type in 'pirate code'. Of all the articles I can see, nothing is mentioned about letting things go if paid. The rules simply show how a captain should split the winnings and other trivial rules. Your argument is null and void.
Back on topic: Probably wont bother to DL but nice to know there are REAL bad boys out there

The EvE pirate code is different to RL pirate code? Ever think of that?

meh, whatever you want to think. Most corps out there would kick/kill someone for not honoring a ransom, at least the more respectable corps do.
Watched the vid, pathetic. Giving your word in local then lying. That isn't they way to try to get fights. Your signature image exceeds the maximum allowed filesize of 24000 bytes -Sahwoolo Etoophie ([email protected]) |

First off, the freighter pilot was stupid to pay off an empire war-deccing griefer such as yourself.
Second, the freighter pilot was stupid to be flying in empire alone while war-decced by your griefer corp.
Quote: This was a move, to frustrate the hell out of at least some of IAC, to come and hunt us down. After all, we are 30, they are several thousand, any one of their corps can bring us more than a fight.
You war-decced them. This "justification" is complete and total bull****. If you wanted a fight you knew where to go to get it, and if not IAC there are plenty of other juicy targets for you to go and fight. If you ventured out from under concord's skirt once in a while you'd know this. If you just wanted to watch a freighter go boom that's one thing, but your "justification" just shows how much of a station-hugging carebear you, and all those who associate with you, are.
With any luck your mother will find out you've used her credit card to sign up for eve and you'll have to take a break until your ********* descend. |

I never claimed to be "0.0 elite pvp'er," I just called you out for lacking the intestinal fortitude to stand behind your own actions. If you wanted to blow up a freighter and grief the owner then so be it. Claiming you took these actions reluctantly in order to get a fight out of an alliance is bull****.
You're the aggressor in a war but you expect the enemy to stop what they're doing and travel a few dozen jumps to fight you? I was in Catch a couple months ago and found 0utbreak squads much smaller than your 30 wreaking havoc on the locals. If you want to fight IAC's pvpers, you know where they are, go fight them. You shouldn't have much trouble. If you want to grief freighters in empire and play privateers then do that. Don't think for a second that your dishonest actions are justified by your own laziness.
If you don't like the fact that most of your war targets never go to empire, war-dec an empire corp and stop whining. |

The reactions would have probably been more gentle if it was a corp/alliance owned freighter, but that was probably his personal stuff or something so hopeing you provoke his alliance didn't succed
What you did succed was breaking your word in probably the most lamest way i have ever seen.

I never said we would come after you because, frankly, we have alliances to kill.
Your justification is still worthless, as is this vid, if you see this as acceptable...whatever. Being afraid of the blob is no excuse, IAC could technically come blob Empire space for you, but they won't since your war isn't having any real effect on what they care about, 0.0 space.

Ok, yeah, first of all this wasn't anything to do with piracy. Secondly, yes you did insult a lot of people in one go. But i can see that if IAC aren't fighting properly, it works. But you shouldn't have published it to the world, because now IAC guys are gunna read this and go "Nah, we'll just leave em there to annoy them". Seriously, if you hate them that badly, stop declaring war, and fight em face to face in 0.0 being outnumbered is the fun of EVE. As if you fly tactically, you can do amazingly well.
One MAJOR critisism that i don't like is:
Quote: To all the pirates playing the "OMG now he wont pay ransom to "honourable" pirates" card; I'm not a pirate. Ive never claimed to be one. And pirates are SUPPOSED to have a bad reputation. F**king deal with it. But i forget, clearly my actions speak for every "pirate" ever!!!111
Pirates are NOT supposed to have a bad reputation. Not in that way, we aren't meant to be "Scum" like most people have commented about you for doing such a thing to this freighter. We are honourable, many people don't realise its a profession, a way of making money. Just like mining. So if you say "F**king deal with it", we don't need to, because most pirates are actually great people.
Hopefully you'll come to your senses and either not release another video, or release one that really interests us (btw, i didn't watch it because i get bored with stupid things like this)

Edited by: Jark Mennings on 19/06/2007 17:20:43 I see a lot of words like 'pirate' and 'griefer' .
Firstly we are not pirates , we only kill war targets. ALL 5o5 members have a sec status that enables them to fly anywhere in empire. Since 5o5 has got back together we have never once claimed to be pirates. So as far as all that 'pirate code' stuff, its not applicable.
A griefer implies to me, someone who picks on another person or corp who cannot defend themselves. Our last 2 war decs have been against FREGE and IAC. It is reasonable to assume that they can defend themselves. Of course we find the odd lone indy WT. What are we supposed to do? let it pass? Looking at our last 20 kills , 2 have been indys and 8 have been BS's rest have been ships of varying size. Not as if we can blob anything, we are a 30 man corp fighting against alliances.
As far as Seyas actions go,its not really my style BUT he has not broken any corp rules, 5o5 is not the type of corp where we get told what to do . Only rule we have is that we always back each other up.
We fly to fight, not pirate , not grief , not to play POS wars in 0.0, not to rat, not to play blob wars, not try and compete with alliances and see how many carriers they can cyno in. We don't fit into any box, we just like to fight with the odds against us.

Fail.
There's plenty ways to get a fight if you want one. If you're a empire war corp then go and wardec another empire war corp. Instead, you wardec a large 0.0 alliance so you can gank their alts that fly around in empire, and then afterwards claim they're all pussies for hiding in 0.0 and not wanting to come to empire to fight you.
And no, I didn't watch the video. The thread content was enough.
