Apparently, as it says in the thread below: http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=534837
Bunny hopping (logging on/off to avoid getting killed by other players) isnt an exploit as told by a GM. So, I asked a GM myself and recieved the following response "logging in or out of the game is not illegal"
So, noob guys, IF you get targetted by piwates in low sec and they're gonna pewpew you, just log the right way and they wont be able to.
Well unless they know the secreat to killing ppl like that...
But its better than having no way else to run

Logging to avoid contact is a great idea if:
A: You are a man who likes to pee sitting down. B: You really want to make an enemy who wants more than your ransom/killmail. C: You dont mind risking logging back in to a pod/station because your enemy had probes. D: You want to be labeled by people as a complete coward.
In short. We all lose ships. Logging to avoid it proves nothing but how big a sissyboy you really are.
Have some self respect and take the ship loss like a grownup.

Ok, then keep flying around like a limp-wristed (no offense backdoor bandit) little ninny that whines in local about losing his uber leet merlin. In fact please do, because there are hundreds of pirates and PvPers that get a huge thrill out of people whining and "pledging to destroy them" in the future.

If you log out and they agress you before your ship does its emergency warp, they will have more than ample time to probe you out and kill you before your ship disappears.
If they manage to scramble you before your ship does its emergency warp, your ship won't be going anywhere and will quickly go *pop*. ------------------ "If you ever need anything please don't Hesitate to ask someone else first." |

If you can't go to lowsec without logging when threatened then you stay out of lowsec.

i think the point of this is that because you are logging in/out so fast, you never actually finish your emergency warp - you emergency warp to the 1mil km SS, then you log in, it starts to warp you back, you log out, and instantly it will warp you back to the SS, you should get there just as you log in, start warping back, and off you go again.
it's lame, but i was under the impression that if they got you scrammed, then you don't emergency warp. so get a fast locker and scram the little coward, or if you're in 0.0, just bubble the little log-tard and he ain't going anywhere - except to a fresh clone. ========================================== Iy

Hey, you yes you, the newb's that want to come to low sec, here is what I have for you. Convo me in game and I will tell you excactly where I am and how you can get to me safely. You will need industrial ship skill cause you will need to fly a hauler here with all the stuff I mention in my convo with you, and make sure you have some isk with you because what you can't haul out here you will have to buy, and it is expensive so better have lots.
It's that easy newb, apply today, fight tomorrow.......... |

You are correct.
So, to the newbies: If you log off once they have you locked, you are not going to save your ship. You are only going to make it easier for them to kill you. ------------------ "If you ever need anything please don't Hesitate to ask someone else first." |

Oh please do try it today. Take the most expensive ship you have, take it into low-sec, let a pirate lock you down and scramble you, then log off. ------------------ "If you ever need anything please don't Hesitate to ask someone else first." |

People are complaining because it's legal. That's the problem. CCP determines wether a tactic is legal and possible or not, and everyone sensible can attest this is against the spirit of the game, and is bad for PvP in general. So, berating players for using it is useless - persuading CCP to make it illegal/impossible is the idea.

All the low-sec campers humping each other on a gate to high sec bukkake tanking the sentries like a pivot man on a mission... pfft. What risk is there when it's 20 big ships permatanking with carrier support. I convo'd one wonder how long they had been sitting tanking the sentries. He said they had been there for 20 minutes with alts in the high sec system and surrounding ones to avoid fleets coming in and to warp back in at 30km for a good look.
Everyone says low-sec is dangerous, but 20 big ships tanking for that long? Put up some more or meaner sentry guns. Why not put in some ECM batteries, web and warp disruptor batteries so they have a bit of the risk. If all high-sec people have to look forward to in low-sec is pirate squads at the gate, it's no small wonder we all stay in high-sec.
Low-Sec -risky for anyone but the pirates apparently.
