I have written a 'basic' G15 LCD Eve skills countdown timer using the new EVE API data. I used vb.net 2005 and include two links below, the installer (for those that don't wish to know anything about the source code) and the source code (for those that do and fear I may have put 'phishing' code in it ;)
Installer v0.1
vb.NET Source Code v0.1: (feel free to add new functionality!)
I believe it will only work providing you are running the 'Logitech LCD Manager' which takes care of providing support for the G15 LCD and it will install itself using the name 'G15 EVE Info'
...I did this for my benefit, not particularly as a releasable application, whilst I would appreciate feedback on any programming practices I have used that are horrific, I will not respond to anyone flaming me for 'n00bishness' !
You will need obtain your EVE User ID, apiKey and Character ID from here EVE API Details for the utility to work for you.
PS. It currently only supports 4 simultaneous character training schedules (the screen isn't big enough for any more, and I haven't put my mind to getting anything to scroll as yet!)

Sorry about the Hungarian, I have localized XP. Though IndexOutOfRangeException is pretty self explanatory I guess.
Let me know if you need the rest of the contents of the exception window. It was too long to copy into here.

Forgot to add that it only does this when I'm trying to add one specific character, works fine for my other two characters.

It doesn't seem to save settings.
I add 3 characters total, press Save settings, the LCD stuff works fine. I close the G15 EVE Info window by pressing the X at the top right corner and the next time I start it only the first character is in the list.

Very usefull!
If I could ask for one feature, it would be the ability to minimize it to tray ;)
Thanks!

Edited by: Mining Maxx on 24/07/2007 06:40:48 hi,
you can get the characters and respectively their ids by using the apikey and the userid. all you have to do is send an additional post string and parse the result.
Quote: Basically, the low security key will provide access to three pages:
/account/Characters.xml.aspx - characters on your account
that should do the trick if you intend to use this e.g. in a tool or website. if you just want to look up your own character once, you could alternatively just move your mouse over your forum icon, then you can see your id as well (cid=xxxx).

First off, what a great little tool. This rocks for me as I always forget which of my characters is due to finish training and have to log all three on to check every time.
I also have two of the issues people list above. One of the characters says 'No Training' even when it is. Also the settings do not appear to save, though I believe they are saving but when the application starts next time it only displays the first character within the program, though they all display correctly on the G15. I am not an expert in programming but I think the issue is with the part which populates the control when the application starts.
I tried to find where the user information is written, to see if I could see what was wrong with the 'No Training' character but I can't find a data file, nor can I find the information in the registry. I had a look through the source code but I faled to spot where you write the information to.
I am going to try and generate a new key for the failing character and see if that helps, though I suspect that will make me enter all the character information again.
Cheers,

Does anyone here know how to minimize that program to the tray? Perhaps a hex edit or something?
