Id like to say I appreciate what CCP is trying to do with EVE TV but i cant help but feel that this first show misses out on what the "magic" of the early broadcasts of evetv were about.
You've hired outside talent to broadcast eve, and I agree you need professional talent to present any kind of broadcast, but I feel that you need to bring back a lot of the Veteran talent into the shows. Stavros, Farjung etc. As much as I hate to be a big fan boy, like any game you need to bring in the old school pros.
And it also feels like CCP is definatly going into the direction that other MMO's are going with turning the game into a very commercial money maker. Not that I wouldnt want anything to prevent kieron from driving a porsche, but what makes this game so powerful over other games is that the Dev's, GM's maintain close contact with the player base and that the game is almost soley player driven.
I just would hate to see that EVE-TV turns it into soulless scripted broadcasts like some crap out of MTV. Bring back caps locks boy.

I have no problem with the new presenters not having played eve before, its good to get critique from a fresh set of eyes. Also good to see how they progress and possibly portray excitement in new found avenues that veterans may find monotonous to explain.
It has to be said that a balance of experienced players wouldn't go a miss. Would love to see *STAVROS* back. He may have been controversial for ccp but man he kept you watching! All was well until the self righteous PC warriors started blowing whistles

a) CCP ≠ EVETV as Eomar says.
b) If you talk to the EveTV guys you'll notice they're very much not corporate scripted MTV-like talking heads. I think they hear all the people asking them to be less scripted. Spiral's good at banter so maybe they'll let him go at it a bit.

I just don't get it, why to involve independent companies into eve with extra charges. look at the Vivox for example. They'll go bankrupt if haven't already. EvE-TV following the same, proven mistake concept. Both Vivox and EvETV should make arrangemnents wit CCP. For christ sake you give them free advertising! CCP should patronose these add on features, it could drive more subscribers to them, would be a great advertisement, a significant impact on the gaming industry. The news would talk about it all around the world. Imagine the new players coming to check EVE. They see we have the game, the VOIP protocol and own TV show but they need to pay for all of them, 3 different charges. It doesn't look so good don't you think? It scares away the people who just checking out your game but haven't determined yet if they will subscribe or not. If new players could watch TV, use Vivox without any charge, THAT would be a master strategy for your player recruitment. Now that so many people heard the news about the community accusations of the DEV-s, and when they come here to check out the company. What they will see? CCP wants to squeeze out as much money as possible for advertising their own game, and for a communication software which should been part of the game. Don'y you think it scares them away? Don't you think that if they have a little concerns about your trustworthyness it will make them any good?
My other theory is that CCP exacly knows all of this, it's might be the part of their master plan. They'll wait until both of these company going to bankrupt so they can take over. Thats a nice move in business terms but honestly i just can't belive you guys playing like that.
I'm not sure if any of you have marketing experience, but I'd suggest ask an expert, let him give you some advice and hear what they have to say.
I hate to see EvE going in this direction, but i hope, that I'm wrong. We will see. Good luck!

I think tinfoil hattery is actually a large part of the reason they prefer to remain a separate entity, ironically enough.
