Hi there. I run more than 1 Eve account at a time. Since Revelations deployment, I've had an issue with each instance of Eve basically being a mirror of the last copy I booted. For example, on logging in, account/instance number 2 will show the log-in account name of the last time I logged in on -any- instance, not the last account I logged in on copy number 2. Or, if the last time I logged in it was on the account where I use the sound (I only use sound on 1 account), well this account will now have audio enabled as well.
Each instance is run from it's own install of Eve. I've deleted the extra copies of Eve from the hard drive and redid them, via copying the original file. However, I made sure the pathway of the .exe file was correct and specific to each folder, for example C/programfiles/Eve/Eve/.exe or C/programfiles/Eve2/Eve.exe, etc. This didn't cure the problem. I'd really rather not have to re-download and install from scratch for each file, but I will if that's the only way to fix this. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help.

this is probably due to the fact that ccp moved the folder the cache/settings folder is stored in. Its no longer in /ccp/eve/cache, but rather in some folder in my documents.
As each instance of eve will now point to the same folder they will all use the same settings.
there is a switch you can use in the shortcut to turn that off, i cant remember it off hand but if you check the patch notes for the last patch you should find it.

the switch is /end /LUA:OFF
add that at the end of the exe bit on the shortcut and it will go back to using the old locations.

Thanks for the replies. I've tried changing the pathway by adding on the "/end/LUA:OFF" as specified in the patch notes, but I keep getting an error message stating that is not a viable file path. /shrug I'll play with it some more later when I have some more time. Thanks again for the replies.

Yeah that really is annoying. I saw the title and hoped there was a quick solution to it. I have 5 accounts so it can get really frustrating.
Especially when you try and logon with an account you are already using = insta-logoff
Oh yeah and if you have a copy specifically for the test server it will be doubly more frustrating as you try not to download patches for every characters eve folder
Stupid Windows and there standards. I HATE My Documents i never use it.
Sounds sad but my eyes narrow and a deep growl rumbles past my lips everytime i see a game released that insists on dumping everything into that folder. I try to keep my windows harddrive clean goddamn it

Agreed. I despise "My Folder" anything. I got my own folders for music/movies/games/documents etc. I don't need a vanilla folder to be designated for me by Microshaft. I prefer to have whatever program I am running to have all the files generated or settings stored in the parent directory of the program running. This way I can go to whatever programs folder I am running and make changes there without having to navigate all the various bull**** folders in Documents just to get to a setting or make a change.
It's simple: C:\Movies C:\Music C:\Games C:\Documents
I don't need C:\Documents and Settings\Software Company\Player\Worthless Subfolders\More Worthless Crap\Settings just to tweak or do something to a file.
BTW, this is not a rant against CCP, just my 2cents on the current state of affairs in software, but majority of advanced computer users make their own folders for keeping things organized. Most of us hate cookie cutter ways of doing things. After all we are EVE players, not console gamers :-)

How it should be, just change the patch to your eve folder. ------- [EXIT] - IAC |

The proper authorities have been notified. It would be in your best interest to delete C:\Music and uninstall your torrent software.
OK ok, maybe thats actually not something to joke about.

"D:\EVE2\eve.exe" /END /LUA:OFF
How it should be, just change the patch to your eve folder.
Ok, I've now tried these various pathways... xxx\eve.exe/end/LUA:OFF"; xxx\eve.exe"/end/LUA:OFF", xxx\eve.exe/END/LUA:OFF", and xxx\eve.exe"END/LUA:OFF and nothing seems to be working for me. Blah, BLAH I say!

None of those will work. It has to be exactly as follows: "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF
Your file path may vary, but the spacing and capitalisation of the switches has to match that, otherwise it will not work.
