Looks promising, but there are tons to improve. I personally like the fact that its not java, but from what I can tell.. object pascal? What I miss the most are options and extra functions wich for example Quickfit yields.
I dont want the menu to the right to auto-hide, I want to be able to import from .xml, I want to fit a module by doubleclicking it and so on and so forth.

There can be multiple opened setup windows and no way to tell where to fit module by double-click.
Good point, but I would still like the info window redesigned. Perhaps it could be solved by sending the module to the last window active? Yes, it will still end up in a "random"(top?) slot, but it can easily be moved there and it doesnt really matter anyway.
Oh, and the option to import through .xml would be great. This is probably due to my "windowmanager" but the buttons are unreadable when pressed. Might be quite an undertaking, but adding a ew-calculator would be sweet aswell. Hows the accurasy, have you spent the time getting exact figures to everything such as peak recharge?

I disabled such option. CCP are going to remove ability to export XML soon so only valid way to get your skills would be through API.
While this is true, there are still quite a few .xml's around, and EVEMon for example allows you to export them - wich allows you to calculate on future setups much easier. No biggie, but I find it handy. Also gives you the option of testing with max skills easily.
Originally by: "Gripen" There is ew-calculator. Press "Projected Effects" button and drag modules there from fitting panel (won't take skills into account) or from another opened setup window. On the screenshot in first post you can see Curse dampening and nossing Zealot. For jammers chance to jam will be shown in caption of "Targeting" box.
Thats also true, however its a defensive and not offensive, Id like to see the modified stats of each and every one of the damps fitted(thus including skills), and the total effect of them all used - with stacking penalties etc.
Then again that might just be beacuse I dont understand. No clue how to make one ships effects appear on the other, without simulating it(IE using twice as many noses as the curse can actually fit due to a 100% bonus).
Really dont mean to complain or be negative, I like the app, and I will be using it, though in my world - the more stats the better. Just chime if you want me to stop whining. =)

I can with relative certainty state that it's not. Try using wine or even bootcamp and a tiny xp install. Or any alternative fitter such as quickfit(granted it may be a tad outdated). Parrots, commence!

Gripen can't do anything without that.
Why EveMon is already updated then? Why Gripen doesn't say anything about the future update? There will still be one? Im not giving isk in advance... By the way, having EFT before your enemies, right after a great update like this one is a good advantage IMO...
It is, hence he shouldn't release it for a few weeks even after the dbdump is out. And why don't you update it yourself? Don't try to claim customer rights for a free product without any real competition. Donate for what you've got, for him doing the community a great service, and do it when you feel like he's worth it. But don't whine at random people for not having fullfilled your dreams. Just wondering...
In theory, yes, it is. But... it's not constructed to be possible and it's basically unrealisticly cumbersome to do. Most cases you'd be better of making your own version of it, especially out of respect. Parrots, commence!

Originally by: BadCo NZ Missile damage seems to be out of whack with TQ. Its showing I do more DPS then what TQ says.
Anyone else noticing this?
Missile damage is by far the easiest to calculate. There are no perfect or suboptimal hits. Just check out the damage a missile does for you on TQ, divide by rate of fire and multiply with your number of launchers. This is what dps you will deal on any stationary infinitely huge target. If either of those change, the formula gets far more compllicated and you can't illustrate it with a single figure.

Originally by: Blithar Statistics are out slightly, example EFT says I have just over 3 minuets of cap, but in game it says I have just under 3 minutes.
It's impossible to implement absolutely correct simulation without bulky interface additions which will be used very rarely. Both EFT and ingame capacitor balance are just approximations and minor differences seen as acceptable.
Originally by: Amari Griseldis When applying environmental effects, it seems the stats of the ship aren't updated correctly. Take Cataclysmic Variable for example. The ship does get the capacitor bonus, but the recharge rate stays the same.
It's working as intended for me. Make sure you are not confusing "capacitor recharge time" with "capacitor recharge rate". Cataclysmic Variable increases ship capacitor capacity and capacitor recharge time which makes recharge rate stay the same.

Originally by: Lady Goldfinch Anyone else have a problem importing the characters in EFT 2.12?
I updated my main without a problem.
Tried to update alt accounts and I get connection failure, and also when the Character Selection window pops up, it lists no characters (as if there are no characters on that API account).
I set my antivirus / firewall to not block the EFT exe file et.c.
Still no dice.
What gives?
The API isn't fully up and running yet. The issue isn't local to EFT, but EVEMon and any other tool using it will have issues. Parrots, commence!

Graph
if cap use was leveled and constant, yes, but as it comes in pulses it won't really happen. You're not capstable at a specific point, you're in stable within a range.
However, while the derivate is positive, I'm fairly certain you would keep gaining cap until you hit what you call the second cap stability point - where the derivate is negative. Even if possible to stay cap stable at two points, they wouldn't be corresponding on a graph like that(assuming that it show the cap recharge at any given point).
That said, it doesn't really matter, to find the exact result you'd have to simulate the cap use step by step(like quickfit did) and it's timeconsuming without really producing any better results than the estimates EFT does. Parrots, commence!
