I've been engaging with various investors over the last few weeks and as a result those discussions I will be changing the FIN-U policy in favour of investors in the following way.
Details:
1) FIN-U will give a guaranteed return of 7.0% until the end of July 2008 (inclunding the July 2008 interest payment).
2) FIN-U will offer a conditional buyback policy after July 2008 if the returns drop to below 6.0%. The conditions are as follows:a) If the interest falls below 6% after July 2008, a thread with buyback reservations will be opened within a week from the end of the month that the interest droped to below 6%. b) That thread will be open for buyback reservations for a period of 2 weeks after which no more reservations will be accepted. c) FIN-U will buy back bonds at 95% (950,000 Isk) each at a rate of no more than 5% of the total investment per month until all bonds reserved for buyback are bought back.
FAQ:
Q: How can you offer 7.0% guaranteed returns? A: I can guarantee the returns as I am sure that returns will be above this for the forseeable future.
Q: If you are so sure, then why only guarantee them for just over a year? A: I don't know what changes CCP will bring into the game in the long term future, so I do not want to commit to something I can not achieve.
Q: Why not offer an unconditional buyback option? A: FIN-U is designed as a long term investment and not as a bank. Offering inconditional buyback makes us act as a bank and that is not something I wish to do. FIN-U is for long term sustained return investment and if you are not happy with the return conditions then I advise not investing.
Q: What about your current investors - will they get the same guarantee? A: Yes, they will.
Sincerely,
Eefrit

I see little in favor of the investors there.
The Eve-Online forums may not have invented whining, but they sure have perfected it.

I'm missing how that is not in their favour.
Before there was no minimum return, now there is. Before there was no buyback, now there is.
Please enlighten me how that is not in their favour?
Regards,
Eefrit
Edit: I see I forgot the 'minimum' from the post. I will ammend that.

But I did not intend to get into a nit pick thread and I see that this may just cause that. So I'm deleting my thoughts and exiting. Stage right.

Seems ok to me, but shouldn't one wait until after the vote finishes, before announcing the change?

Initially I did not think that it would need a vote as I am not taking anything away from investors only giving them more.
Subsequently it was recommended that I have a vote anyway, which I have subsequently done.

In hindsight, I should have subsequently picked up on this change in voting structure and then hypothetically apply it to the situation which has subsequently not yet been reached in hindsight.
