When I started my character, were no Bloodlines, and thus no skill bonuses.
What did the older players get in return for them introducing these bloodlines?

Some with Revelations. New players got 1M SP in skills, sometimes including skills trained up all the way to level 4 or 5. Older players got nothing. I guess it is one way to achieve the "shortening the gap" that WoW and former WoW players with zero experience in how grouping dynamics in this game work like to gripe about.

stop stating rubbish.
Every character got all the skills according to his bloodline, if a military racial bloodline gives you lvl 5 in gunnery EVERY military racial char in the game, including the old ones, get that skill upgraded to lvl 5. This goes for all the skills.
Thing is that most older characters already have that skill trained so they won't notice/get anything added, so yes older chars MIGHT not benefit but stating how sad this game has become because older chars get nothing simply isn't true and reeks of whining.

It's not exactly that. It gave skills until you get to 800k SP. So, people with less than 800k SP had the missing skills of their career searched in the order they are populated in the character creation and had boosts in that skills.
Let me explain : I am gallente-intaki bloodline. I took military-soldier career. I began a bit before the patch, by the time of the patch, I had more than 800k SP, but mostly in learning. I did not get any SP in gunnery (which is the strong one in soldier), or in anything else. I was weaker than the new players, but learning really faster. So, you think before explaining things that did not happen. The only good thing with the patch is I could learn the charisma advanced learning from my lvl 4 basic charisma learning. Oh, and I had all the other basic learning skills to 5 by the time of the patch, finally, I was grinding to get learning finised and with the patch, I realized it could have been way faster (getting the basic lvl 5 after the lvl 4 advanced is way faster, also I would have had the choice of not taking lvl 5). -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast ! The Vexor Navy Issue is much more fun than the Myrmidon !

To clarify further: there have always been bloodlines in the game. They just added one to each race after RMR.
During that time, they also increased starting skill points to 800k-odd, depending on school and specialty choices.
For characters who didn't have 800k SPs, they increased them to that from the applicable skills possible with their starting school, etc. If you had over 800k SPs, you got nothing.
I used to get It. Then It changed. Now I don't even know what It is.

If you're a pure blood Gallente, then you chose Gallente, Gallente as opposed to Gallente, Intaki, at the time. The wording may have changed since then to be more explicit, but the 2nd one is your bloodline.
The original manual called them bloodlines, IIRC, one of the few helpful bits of info it contained.

Um...very little about the above is correct.
The Bloodlines patch which added the asian bloodlines arrived last March, which was 4 months after RMR. The Bloodlines patch did nothing to anyone's skillpoints, except that with the career paths open to the asian bloodlines, they could start with FAR more skillpoints than had been previously possible. A non-asian starting with Frigate 4 would have 110,000 SP or so. An asian starting with Gunnery 5 would have around 270,000.
In Revelations, this was all changed to give new characters the 800k skillpoints they currently enjoy. Anyone who was below that figure was bumped up to that figure. If you were above it, you got nothing.

Um, no. You're wrong.
The Bloodlines were supposed to come with RMR, but were delayed to a later patch.
As I already stated, if you had <800k SPs before the patch, your SPs were increased according to your school and subgroups. If it were above, you got nothing. Whether or not your were "Asian" had nothing to do with it. I know this for fact from several of my alts.
Your Gunnery IV or V means nothing, as it has no basis in fact. I really have no idea where you get this idea.

Again, wrong. This came a year before Revelations. Though your following points hold true to what I already said about the RMR Bloodlines patch, which you apparently don't believe happened.
So, basically, you're agreeing with me, but you have no idea of the time frame.

actually it was closer to 6 months. I've been here almost a year and remember it changing about 6 months after I joined.
