Edited by: Calmera Inaki on 17/07/2007 07:36:25 Edited by: Calmera Inaki on 17/07/2007 07:35:42 Hey guys, i played a bit with some numbers and calculations... how many ships you will need to pop a freighter in high sec in a short period of time without ganked by concord.
Has anyone any hint or clues maybe experience?
The Freighter has low shields and well...24000 armour isnt so much... .
Best thanks

Also ive not tried it personally but i understood Dominixes are ussually used so the drones keep attacking even after the actual ships get jammed and concordokened

Shield and armor go down fast, structure will last longer, freighter should have 100k or so structure

There is a video from Outbreak when they kill a freighter in Highsec called "Karma". I think they had around 30 BS there and the Freighter popped as quickly as a frig :D

it's harder now because concord sucks all your energy in like 2 seconds

Doesnt matter, u use dominixes coz concord will permajam u anyway. And vs 20-30 dominixes with t2 heavys freighter pop rly fast, it got 100k hull but its hull at 0% resists, nice passive tanked battleship can get more than that :P ---

Drones are also jammed by concord now, so Dominixes vs. Freighter won't work

The shields and armor of a freighter mean diddly squat compared to structure. Overall, you need something in the area of 200k raw damage (slightly varies depending on damage type) to insta-pop a freighter.
With slightly improved CONCORD (more raw damage, more damage types, faster energy drain, taregtting drones now too), you need to coordinate the strike quite well, as you won't get many volleys in once CONCORD arrives (and in 1.0, you're lucky to get a second volley at all).
Sadly (?), Dominix is still the best cost-effectiveness choice if you do have a large amount of pilots available... your net loss is about 30 mil ISK for a cheap gank setup and full insurance. Although Abaddon and Hyperion will do quite fine too, especially if you have less pilots, but it's quite a bit more expensive "per pilot"... almost 70 mil net loss per ship (so more than double the loss), while the damage increase is only 30-40% overall per ship.
If you have time for two volleys (and you usually should, with blasters), 50 Dominixes should easily do the job. That's 1.5 bill net loss maximum, if you only use ultra-cheap setups (only T1 "basic" gear). Some systems, especially 0.5 or so... you have a lot of time (number of volleys) before CONCORD shows up, so even 20-25 Dominixes with T1 Ions might do the job in time... that's as low as around 500-600 mil net ISK loss for the attacking team.
