I not sure what to use. What i want is something that will prevent my ship from being jammed, or at least a chance of it.
Do i use something like ECCM - Omni II

You can try an ECM burst, hoping to break the lock on the jamming ship. But it's short ranged, and also if you use it in high sec, you may get concorded (since it's an area effect weapon, and you may hit unintended targets).
Also, increasing your sensor strength can help. Most ships smaller than BS's have a strength much less than "20". You can boost it though, check out either sensor backups or boosters (I can't recall which).
Boosting your signal strength reduces the odds of being jammed.

Well, depending on the type of ship you are flying and whether you want active or passive this is what you want
Amarr- (radar) Active: Linky Passive: Linky
Minmatar- (ladar) Active: Linky Passive: Linky
Gallente- (magnetometric) Active: Linky Passive: Linky
Caldari- (gravimetric) Active: Linky Passive: Linky
There is also the multifrequency arrays that will boost all types, but to me these seem silly since your ship only depends on 1 type of sensors. (these may not be entirely accurate for all ships of the race, but I think they are)
Active: Linky Passive: Linky

IIRC, passive (Sensor backup arrays) are not effective against ECM from NPC's .
Do ECM bursts work on NPC's?

Cheers for the ace replies...
Il be more specific so. I want something for my Hyperion. I can tank fine but when i get ecm'd it just becomes a slow slow death. So if i was to use 2 modules(active seeing as cap isnt an issue) what would be best. Currently i trid out 2x ECCM Omni II's and they seemed okay, is there anything better i can be using?

On a Hyperion, use Magnetometric ECCM instead as Gallente ships use that sensor type.
I still haven't seen a viable reason to use Omni ECCM over any of the specific types yet - twice the cap usage for exactly the same sensor boost.

So having a bonus to all the other sensor types has no effect really if im using a Hyperion?

Correct, only your highest sensor strength matters.

Do any of the faction ships (like the rattlesnake or whatever)have multiple types of sensors? Cause if they do thats realy the only reason I can see using the multi spectrum boosters

A quick check says no. Rattlesnake is gravimetric, vindicator is magnetometric, while the machariel is ladar and the nightmare is radar.
Presumably the smaller faction ships use the same sensor type as their faction type.
The concord and jovian ships use all types though. I suspect though, all that means is that to jam them, you need to hit all 4 sensor types simultaneously.
