Hi guys,
So basicly, I have started my own corporation (as you can see). I want its main focus to be manufacturing and transport. This corp is going to be a 1 man corp until I can use and afford a Fenrir freighter. But thats not what I wanted to ask.
My question is; When I start a freighter business, and when I have 2-3 Fenrir pilots in my corp, what will be my main concern? Is there a certain way a freighter business works? (apart from normal mining/mission corps).
What are the benefits of other pilots joining my corp rather then going solo?
If you need more info please ask and I will try to do my best. I really need this info! :)
Best regards, Mekk Azal,

Edited by: YunFu Yan on 19/07/2007 20:04:30 Benefits I could see: 1. Corporate Identity: A reknown and trusted business man as a figurehead would benefit younger pilots. 2. Pooled ISK: Collaterals for freighter trips can easily reach 10 digit figures. 3. More flexibility: It's bad for business if a pilot has to turn a request down cause he's on a trip already. He not only loses the gain from that trip but might also lose a customer who might have otherwise returned. By having multiple pilots in one corp each single pilot is able to provide a more reliable service.
However the professional traders and builders who do rely on freighters for transportation usaly have their own. It is not easy to find customers. Sometimes shoppers in Jita seek transportation service. A few of my returning customers are also people with empire wars. Last but not least, when I've got nothing better to do I just do a round trip throu the region picking up any courier mission that suits me.

I forgot to mention, I also want to know how shares work. Where do they get their value from? What are the consequenses of selling shares to out-of-corp pilots?
Any general info about shares would be awesome.

In general don't do that, unless you realy know what are you doing. Search the forums for "shares" and you will ifnd out how they work.

Main concern? Them ripping you off.
If you want to freight stuff... freight trit to Jita once you get a freighter.
If you can get a 0.5 isk spread on buying trit and selling it you stand to make 42 million per trip.
Buy close enough to jita and you are making an easy AFK haul of around 20-50 milion an hour.
Just set a stopwatch and go watch TV. Time your routes and get a routine going. Making isk in this game by freighting is easy and that method is just about the easiest for a newbie freighter corp.

Capital to play with?
To fill a freighter with trit shouldn't cost you more than 160 million. If it does you are paying WAY too much for trit.
If you get AFK ganked for hauling a trit load in your freighter, you were targeted personally and it had nothing to do with AFK hauling.
AFK hauling is 100% safe for loads less than 1 billion in freighters unless you go into low security.
