Well, CCPs Authentication-server isn't working. Surprise, Surprise.
As usual I'm losing skill-training time because of this, and as usual there is no compensation since this part is too hard for CCP to figure out.

We don't need the forums to tell us the server is down, and whining about it won't make it come back up any faster. WTB thread lock. -----------

Know what you mean, switched to short skill not long before server crash. Now idly waiting for something to happen. |

What a moron, that's not at all what I said... I don't care if the server is up or down. I care if I lose SP-time.

I doubt anyone can sell you a thread lock, but a couple of things you can get absolutely free:
1) Not reading the thread: a Simple matter of not clicking, tbh. 2) A clue.
Enjoy!

Skill on my industry character should've finished 2 minutes ago, if only there was some kind of feature to help deal with these unfortunate mishaps...

Because in the 20+ years that it will take to learn every skill in EVE to lvl 5, that half hour or so that you've "lost" completely breaks your game... /sigh

I know you care, I know I care, who in their right mind wouldn't? Just acknowledge the near-impossibility of giving sifting through the specifics of thousands of player requests for reversing lost SP time. Do you have any idea how much work something like that would take? -----------

Oh my god, NO!!!! It might take two -- maybe even three -- days before you forget all about the meaningless amount of skill points you're "losing".

Also gonna lose 2,3, maybe 4 hours of skilltime. Also ****ed off. To the naysayers such as Omard: the concern is warranted - this happens waaay to much for us not to get upset.

I'm being serious. Honestly, a few hours? There are bigger issues to complain about. There are more important things in life to worry about. Just take a breath and relax.

For me anyway, it's not necessarily the lost time. I know that a few lost hours every week probably doesn't bother many people. It's more about the hassle.
Becasue of this DT tonight, I will be staying up an extra 2-3 hours so I can set my next skill before bed.
That is a pain in my ass. You cannot convince me otherwise.

I'm not so much angry... just disappointed that one of the few things in the game I still care about is not possible for me. Which is kinda worse, since that might mean the end of my eve career.

This isn't a freeware game, This isn't an open source project. People pay for this stuff, People are losing sleep, Skillpoints, and Time over this.
You have no room to stand on with your frankly bad points because the simple fact is people pay for a service they are not currently getting.
Now it is my hope with the next big Need for Speed update. They will make these events happen alot less often. However, it is VERY good to have their community on their rear ends to insure timely and quality stuff.

Ahm, look at topic. Isk, PvP, Mission-running might mean a lot to you, Skill-training is what is important to me. I've tried most things in this game, several times over. This is what I pay my RL-money for this game. That and keeping contact with a few friends of mine.

Edited by: Divideby0 on 21/07/2007 06:12:17 So just when is Eve supposed to come out of beta-testing?
I am less concerned about my losing 2 hours of skillpoints than I am that I have to stay up another 2 hours to keep from losing another 30 hours of skill points.

I'm ****ed because i pay 15 bucks a month to play a game to only have it go down every other week and have a 1 hour DT a day. i already don't like the DT but i have to live with it but to have to have a 3 hour DT WTF! this is the 3rd time this month that they have had to patch this.
Its starting to ware on my patients. i mean it would be so bad if they compensated me for the extra DT. and i don't give to flying sh**s how long it takes them its not my fault that they don't know how to do there job. and that I'm getting it in the rear because of there stupidity.
and trust me on this when Stargate come online i will be switching!! or untill i find something that is more stable.

Also, I think everyone should know, every time I lose an hour or more of skill training, I feel that my life has been a complete waste, I will never get that hour back, and I contemplate hanging myself.

Wrong! You pay for game time, not skill training. If you want to complain about not getting your money worth, complain about not being able to play the game at least, not about a few hours of skillpoints lost/delayed.
That being said, I do agree with the op.
