Trying to pick between these as my first incursion ship. Basically can fly both more or less now and eager to try out incursions.
Which would be more suited and more likely to get a group? Will take other considerations ....assuming Caldari boats and missile based skills.
Not interested in hearing suggestions for none missile boats, i understand they are more wanted but i do not have the skills, and would rather head to logi than retrain everything.
Strat cruisers considered but not massively expensive ones.
Thanks.

Out of those two and a Tengu/Logi, you're best off in a Tengu/Logi. You'll get more fleet invites.

For Vanguards you would honestly get more responses with a Tengu or a Basilisk/Scimitar. Of the ones you suggested I would be more inclined to go with the CNR as it probably has the greater damage potential, but I'd check that. The rate of fire bonus for the CNR is generally better for you than the SNIs bonuses, which I forget off the top of my head, but believe its a tanking bonus. |

The basi is more fun, uses no ammo, costs less, and gets you more fleet invites. vOv |

Tengus(Tengi?) suck for incursions. Good luck contesting anything with that.
Logi, or train guns. Caldari fails, don't fail. |

The Tengu is pretty much second string for incursions, tbh. Turreted DPS is hands down better for incursions.

both ships would do better in assault and HQ fleet, because they: A) need a anchor, the SNI excells at that role. The only problem you'll have is that out of a fleet of 20 or a 40 there is only need for 1 anchor. B) need sniper fits, both ships can do this, though cnr would be better for it since it has higher DPS. But missiles ships do have the disadvantage of missiles having to travel to the target and thus have a big delay when you're firing at a target 150km away.
That being said you're best bet as a caldari pilot is the basilisk with the tengu coming in second place. One of the big advantages I've found on cruiser sized hulls is their mobility. This makes a big difference when you have to jump 20/30 jumps to the new incursion systsem as you will have to do from time to time.
oh and a nighthawk is a decent choice for incursions as well. I've used to with reasonable succes of getting a fleet invite. Though a tengu is still better.. |

Best caldari incursion dps ship is the nightmare and thats only 50% caldari in it. Maybe thats why its the best. |

It's been said already, but get a tengu. You're going to get bored of incursions REALLY fast if each time you try to run one you spend 2 hours spamming your fit waiting for a fleet invite.
Train for a basilisk, get logi 5 asap. It's a good way to get fleet invites, though IMO your best bet will still be crosstraining some laser skills and getting a nightmare (or a vindi if you want skills that will help you as a caldari pilot)
Missiles are rather meh in eve right now (not heavy missiles mind you, but the rest of them are). If you insist on sticking with them for incursions you're going to be disappointed I think. |

I've personally made over 4bil with a tengu in incursions running every type.
Pros:
- Extremely UNDERRATED when you are NOT contesting - Great for OTAs - Ton of mids for utility, just make sure you don't OVERTANK which is what most people do - With good skills (and i mean great like almost perfect) you really benefit your fleet
Cons:
- You SUCK for contesting sites. You're horrible. Your only roll is tackling and pointing - Fast moving ships really make your DPS suffer so you have to make sure you are fitting to have the best explosion velocity/ signature thing possible. That means either two tech II rigors or two tech II flares (these depend on your fit, if you are sporting a TP go with two flares, mostly webs, go Flares) - Every other T3 is better than your t3 cause missiles are horrible for contesting sites - Ammo is a lot ( don't be a cheap **** and only use t1)
With that said here is my fit. Mind you it is all faction cause i made enough isk and invested that isk to be able to replace this ship. This in my opinion is the best tengu possible for incursion without having to worry about being blown up by two volleys of full room aggro.

With this i get over 80% resists across the boad, 1k volley on Frigs and over 1.4 per volly @ augas every 3.88 sec with my skills and implants.

If you're trying to break into the vanguard fleets with a missile boat to grind isk, then you will most likely be waiting for a long time for invites unless you have friends willing to bring you along. Among the 3 previously mentioned ships, (tengu, CNR, SNI) tengu is the most popular choice though I think a CNR would work passably or better for OTA blitzing. The Tengu however is still essentially a t3 drake. If you do assault fleets or HQ's then the CNR would be better than the SNI since it can push more damage out, while the SNI is tankier. Tengus are also viable in assaults due to the one assault site that requires cruiser dps. Honestly though if you want to consistently get into a vanguard fleet due to the current game mechanics it's a turret boat or logi or gtfo. |

Fly those as snipers in HQ sites. There's a group that runs them nearly every day.
If I had to pick, I'd say navy raven personally, but it's personal preference really. For example, if you wanted you could use less tank on the scorpion and fit TP's, to help the whole fleet do more dps. |
