Not that a thread will probably help, but thought i'd air my frustration.
Well, I just had my re-inbursement rejected cos there was no logs of it on the server. Apparently it was on my end.
Yeah, right...my client caused so much lag that both fleets in our engagement ( of about 40 to 50 people in total ) couldn't do anything except chat in local.
According to my overview and client i was flying away from the conflict at 8km/sec, at one point i was being attacked and hurt my berserker2's when the nearest target was 1400km ( yes km's ) away from me. This was for a good few minutes, probably near 5. I closed the client off, restarted it.
I'm not letting my petition close til i get my iskies back. Either that or give me a months subscription so i can rat back the loss i suffered.
In summary sorry folks, but its my client causing all these issues. Perhaps Slyph/CVA should sue me for any losses they had. I'm sure my gang mates will be taking me up for their losses.
CCP fix this.

20 on 40? at most, I was watching people fighting etc when they were sat looking at their clone bay.
GM also closed my petition with "No fault shown in their logs"
Its not the isk value of the ship for me, its the waste of an evening, then the denial of an issue when its blatantly documented there is one.

if it dont show in there logs its not there problem like my domi that was in docking range i was not attacking any one but i could not dock for over 1 minute then as soon as my domi went down my pod dock instanly.
so i file a petition showing my logs witch you can clearly see i could not dock for no reson but there logs showed nothing RIGHT O CCP what ever you say
what i would like to no is how are my logs diffrnt from the servers....

i sat in a covy that night watching the fight. Or i thought i did. people were telling me they were in stations and had relogged. However i still saw them alive. I couldnt see the two or three carriers on the gate, i couldnt see half the gang or half the hostiles. I couldnt warp but could type in local fine. CCP your logs show you nothing. I seriously suggest changing how your logs track lag because in the many years ive played this game you've never been able to detect it. Both sides of this fight were complaining about lag. Both sides of this fight stopped pew pew'ing and started chatting in local about how bad it was. Sort it out for the sake of those payiong for this game ffs

Join the Queue of dissfatisfied pettitioners.
you recieved the standard response as did I and everyone else.
The same issue plauges IT helpdesks and call centres all over the world. With credit given to closing calls not customer satisfaction.
In my opinion Pettitioning is arbitary and pointless until CCP change their policys or metrics on pettition closing.
its just a pitty CCP seem to care so little about their customer base.

I'm sorry Prolapse if my client lag caused you to lose a ship as well :p
I'm thinking it might be time to dust off my warlock, where at least 'my' client issues won't cause me to waste hours ratting to refund another pvp joyful event.

I like to think that I don't whine/petition/complain very much at all, but the engagement mentioned by the OP was pretty silly.
It's not as if I haven't lost ships before to lag/being a an idiot; what makes it annoying is that the response to the petitions was basically: 'you are lying/have a ****y PC/ are a nub lolz!!1!'.
Riiight. 15 people between England, Hungary, the U.S., Australia, etc., etc. At the same time. While free TeamSpeak servers were fine. When there is a patch specifically addressing this issue.
Whatever.

Dont bother, i desynched, lost a ship, petitioned it, and i had fraps to backup my petition, fraps which clearly showed the desync and i got told to stuff it.

I'm unhappy to see other people have the smae kind of complaints that I do about CCP. I wish a real gaming company would come out with a competitor for the 'trade wars' genre of mmo. CCP would lost it's fanbase quickly to a competant company.

I can understand CCP being reluctant to reinburse alot of things, but in this case they *ARE* wrong.
And for the post above, bloodhoof (euro), is where my warlock is/will_be. He has been gathering dust for along while now.

Petitionned, Denied x 2. Same reasons as above .. Thanks for the support CCP, this event clearly never happened or was obviously a fault at my end. And most other pilots present. Simultaniously.
Please fix this problem as it is making Eve really unreliable, and with no compensation it somewhat limits gameplay of players not wanting to throw money into the toilet.

I can confirm that the Eternal Rising guys desynched. The following is a piece of text from an internal battle report following the fight... The enemy scouted DP and saw the smallish CVA fleet and they moved away from the Sylph station and set camp on DP gate. We asked sylph (12 or so) to undock and warp to the DP gate. Sylph got into fight on gate and our chaps from DP jumped in. Ram had a cyno and we had two carriers on standby who jumped in. The fleet from 3kb also jumped in and warped to fight (+100au warp).
Unfortunately the jump in of the chaps from 3kb desynced everything as a result

were pretty screwed and had to start relogging. Fortunately most of the undesynched people were CVA so in the end was a bit of a slaughter. They lost 11 BS and other 2 dictors. CVA lost Manticore and Crow. Sylph lost 2/3 ships as they initiated fight before CVA got there and therefore has to face the initial attack of the enemy. XXX did a great job sorting the tactics and calling targets. The desynch did help us... but we would have won fight anyway - albeit with more more losses...

Thanks Hardin, for taking time out to post here.
Agreed your forces were larger, and we woudl have suffered heavy losses. But more importantly, i would have been safe :p
Had we had the pleasure of dying at your hands, whilst actually flying our ships...there wouldn't be a complaint. We only seek a nice fight. Which you guys seem to supply with quick responce

How constructive is this?
The fact is yes, the devs know, but it's not logged, and, if it's not logged, the GMs don't have the rights to refund!
Then, the devs are working on a fix, but it seems that they actually can't log that people were desynced from server side, so GMs won't ever be able to refund somehting...
Wait and see when it's fixed...
For now, when nothing moves, disconnect and reconnect, and everything will be working fine again, just that you are not anymore in your gang...

Eleana, agreed. Spamming petitions isn't the way forward. But ignorantly claiming that the fault is mine when clearly it isn't is just...er...stupid.
