You fail to mention this has happened Daily/Bi-Daily for the last week.

Please remain courteous. I understand that you are a bit angry about the server issue but if you do have complain on the server instability, I would suggest providing some tangible evidence of such issue such as date, time since just saying it happen all the time is not really constructive. - thx Pirlouit
Umm, can't you just look here:
http://eve.coldfront.net/status/tranquility
I would direct your attention to all the "breaks" in the graph during the last week that don't coincide with the regularly scheduled downtimes.
For those who are just tuning in, breaks in the graph on that page are unscheduled downtimes, i.e. server crashes.

Super cool link. I was looking for something like that online but game up. Thanks for the post.
Does it eliminate the daily downtimes? Looks like those are factored in.
I won't give CCP a pass on that because they are competing with other MMORPGs that have naer 24-7 service. Instead CCP only prvide 23.5-7 service so they already are providing sub-industry standard service levels from the get go.

Actually, breaks in that graph show times when the coldfront server failed to contact TQ. While this could be because of TQ downtime, it could also be due to coldfront downtime, or some internet issue between coldfront and TQ over which neither CCP or coldfront have control.
And given the current watery nature of significant areas of the UK right now, I would be very surprised if there weren't any routing issues cropping up. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |

Makes no diffrence how many players, if the server can't support the players it has, it's time for the company to take action with either more upgrades and/or Stop allowing new players.

O RLY? Who else has a game like Eve?
This is a piece of software - and software has problems. Even the best designed software written by the best programmers managed by the best managers has problems.
And as for downtime, there isn't another MMO that has the simultaneous users and transaction load that Eve has. I consider it a miracle that Eve runs at all. ------------------

they said themselves that they could handle all the subscribers logging into the server and the server to be (almost) stable. Well why then cant they hold 2.5% of that userbase at one time? However, I must say, things are improving
