Anybody have any suggestions for setting up your chat windows? Currently I have 1 window with tabs for local, corp, and 2 other channels. The problem is I often seem to miss the little blinking tabs and have a hard time switching back and forth.
Its even worse when running missions because I get the NPC talk in all of the windows, so I'll see one blinking and click it only to see its just a repeat of what I had already seen.
Any tips? Heck I wish it could at least be set to make a sound if you you get activity in a channel that you are not viewing. But be able to set it per channel. So for instance if you had a public recruitment channel that you monitored, you could set it to alert you if somebody stopped by.
Just my thoughts from a newer player.

not sure if this is the answer you want but you can grab the tags at the top of the channel and drag them about so they make new windows which will reduce the number you have in one window.

Maybe if I get a second monitor I'd have room for the windows. For now though I do my best to consolidate. Although maybe that is just my true problem.

THis is my Setup: Image
I usually run with the Gang window in the top left cleared through as well, And Pers-Chats go either beside gang chat, or in with the rest of my chat stuff.

I have a setup similar to JT.
For me - only local (to monitor who's there) and gang are of any use most of the time. I look at corp if I'm not busy and alliance rarely. Other special channels are used from time to time, but generally not watched constantly.

I set up Local, Corp, and Gang chats in the center where they are out of the way of things I need to click on.(leave gaps between them to say open your hold) Then click the circle on the top of the window making it transparent. Then I can see and read at the same time.
I use local mainly just to see who and how many are around.

I got corp, ally and gang all separate and as compact as they get, local a bit larger to see a bigger list and whispers all over the place, as they dont usually last too long. And ALL of my chat windows are transparent, and i advise the same for you.
