Does anyone know what Gallente ships can fit a strip miner? I am thinking of finding a way to miner more/faster. I am currently mining as a break from the norm and use a thorax into 2 a giant cargo containers. Then I pick them up with my iteron. I have five miner II's fitted with one MLU and it seems to work fairly quick. Can I expect more with a ship that fits strip miners?
Thanks

The only ships that can use strip miners are Mining Barges (Procurer, Retriever, and Covetor) and Exumers (Skiff, Mackinaw, Hulk)
The Retriever, Covetor and Hulk will outmine your thorax.
A Brutix fitted with 7 lasers will match the retreiver until you have very good skills and T2 strip miners on the retriever.
The Hulk is the Best miner in the game averaging a jetcan (27500m3) in 15 minutes to a person with average skills., but costs 100 mil, the Covetor is a strong 2nd at 20-25 min.

Should be added the Hulk can be seen as a target. You have to mine alot of minerals to pay for it.

If you have the skill and money, try using an Armageddon with 8 lasers and some mining upgrades - or an Apocalypse with Modulated Deep Core Miner II's + upgrades.
However, a BC as said is a very good alternative unless you aim for the barges which undoubtly are the best for mining (except they don't win the style class )

Chribba you n00b, Armageddon's only have 7 turret hardpoints for miners. You've been spending too long in your Veldnaught.

of course, I blame temporary pvp delusion
Still though, Armageddon with its 7 miners is a viable choice and one extra low slot over the Apoc. Thank you for correcting me

If you want to stick with Gallente ships, the Dominix can be made to mine almost as good as the Armageddon. 6 Miner II's and up to 5 MLU's can fit, I believe.
If you want to be a serious miner, mining barges are the way to go. Search for Halada's mining guide.

Another good, non barge miner is the caldari BS Rokh, it can fit 8 lasers with 4 upgrades makes it tops of the non mining specific ships, and I think 3rd overall at to pure volume it can mine (Im at like 900m^3 per minute across all 8 with 4s in mining and astrogeology)

The Rokh is a wonderful miner (as are most tier3 battleships), but expect to get a sore wrist bailing ore out of your hold every 30 seconds. However, it can fit a tank so should definitely be considered for 0.0 mining.
But for afk mining while your main does missions nothing beats a hulk.
