Hey Guys,
Please list out what you believe are the major industry sectors within the greater EVE Business community. Examples:
Logistics Manufacturing Finacial Services (loans, mutual funds, etc) Entertainment (lotteries, etc) Consulting/Audit Services (myself, what EMFi used to do) Etc, etc, etc.
What am I trying to accomplish?
I'd like to try and work to get some kind of consensus on the different kinds of businesses that exist. Please be creative, discuss each other's replies, debate, and "think different".
Best Regards, Hexxx
p.s. I'm still not accepting new clients. This is just research for some of my personal work on the EVE markets.

Id have to say, hands down, is manufacturing..
There are some to a lot of the other sectors, but I fell "most" industry related tasks are in the building area.
I take logistics to mean pos moon mining and reg mining as one. This in my mind would hold a solid 2nd
The rest fall where ever they fall, could debate it, but for the major areas, those two would be "leaders"...

Scrap Merchant: buying small quantities of unwanted items with ranged Buy orders, collecting them in a central warehouse, hauling shiploads of single types out to the best sales points.
Disadvantages: a long term business that requires large amounts of stock and hands on experience to operate efficiently. Advantages: high profit margins, does not require micro managing.

Logistics is larger then most people give it credit for.
For those who don't know what Logistics means it's pretty much the dirty glue that makes everything work. But everyone hates to do.
For example - You can set up a Moon mining OP, top up the POS for 14 days operation, however every 40 hours you're going to have to empty the silos, Who does it? You're also going to have to buy/haul/store the fuel.
That's Logistics.
Every time you need to do something else to support your main task is Logistics.
You want to build a ship. You need the minerals in a location but they are 20 jumps away, That's logistics. You want to move your Corp/Alliance to a new region, that's BIG logistics. Every decent Corp/Alliance has a person or two that does all the moving. Any decent corp/alliance has people go out and refuel POSes, empty silos, etc. You have a gang that needs more ammo etc. You tell your gopher to get more. It doesn't matter what you're doing, how you're doing it. You're either paying someone to do it or doing it yourself.
Without Logistics EVE would be nothing.
On that token, almost everyone has Logistics already so it's not exactly the best business to get into.
