Hi,
I'm trying to take to the life of piracy, and have been spending time in a handful of lowsc systems getting some experience, but I keep getting killed by a Crow.
It's so fast I just cannot do anything about its range and its spewing out T2 missiles which I am helpless against and cannot warp away due to being jammed.
Is there anything that can kill a crow thats not an inty? I can fly frigate-battleship and AF's, both Minnie and Gallente.
Can someone please advise on fitting and tactics to take out such a fast ship.

I can't fly an huggin and I can't ever get close than 18km to the Crow!

t2 precision missles can be surprisingly effective, or t2 warrior drones if they're fast enough.
I agree I don't have the features to be a holoreel star. Most people have missed the point that this is Mobsters Online and that carebears are at the bottom of the foodchain. |

Huginn webs from 40km +..but tbh a crow would never go near one if it had any sense
What are you flying? Cause a crow is a big problem for a lot of minie ships. It's missiles never miss, and yes they move freaky fast lol.

Edited by: James Grand on 31/07/2007 00:49:39 Nosdomi should take care of it pretty quickly.
Edit: Use t2 light drones, mediums probably won't be able to catch him and heavies won't even come close.

Speed fit a gallente cruiser and overload speed mods when he engages, best case scenario you can get within webb range when you surprise him. Worst case scenario, you die but you had a chance.

Domi to kill a ceptor, is kind of over kill Warrior T2 are very fast and nasty, so if you can fly a rupture and fill drone bay with them, that would work. But even then, I think the crow would run.
They are hard to kill

Precision missiles in a, oh say, Caracal should do nicely.
Or use a BS sized nos. Unless hes in faction fit, with a 28km scram.

Why do you need a BS to kill 1 inty The suggestion that you need a large NOS to kill a crow, kind of emphasises how good it is as tackler. Oh and see new NOS nerf...so the crow will still keep you scrammed
Crow would never break a decent BS tank solo, so why would it attack solo. If it scrammed you and you in a NOS Domi, I am betting he has friends in next system

Edited by: Jonny Magellan on 31/07/2007 01:11:06 This is just a noob opinion but a crow would be hard to kill with any ship aside from those minmatar recons or another interceptor. If hes losing he would just warp away anyway.
I think 2 remote sensor dampeners would be enough to bring them to nosf/neut range if I am not mistaken.
And like above poster said a crow with max skills does less than 100 dps I think you can perma tank that on big ships.

1) He asked how to stop a Crow. Not how to fairly and politely deter said miscreant.
2) If someone pirates in a Crow, its because they know they are near invincible. Unless the pilot screws up. Its a tactical advantage if you will. Why not use any means at your disposal to deter him?
3) Why would you use future eve changes to debate a current problem? Thats just plain silly.

Yep, kind of like a Vaga or speed Ishtar with less Dps. It's not so much about how you kill a crow, it's how you make him run away
As for number 3...well I am silly

Yup... best bet is a destroyer.
Ppl and the OP are missing the point as such in recommending a BS to kill an inty cos the INTY won't engage anything it knows can kill it.
An inty is likely to engage a dessie however but it's most ilkely that the second the crow gets smacked with damage he'll be a million miles away from you.
Ultimately my advice to the OP is keep your eye on your scanner, a crow shouldn't be jumping you anyway if you were already doing this. If he shows up, you leave or refuse to come out of your safes.
Failing that train up for an inty yourself and see if you can't beat him at his own game.

i prob shouldn't say this because i fly the crow and pirate alot wiv it but:
i use a fleet stabber here's the fittings:
4x 220 t2 1x corpi a-type med nos
1x mwd t2 1x dis t2 2x large shield ext t2
2x nano t2 2x overdrive t2 1x gyro t2
crow's orbit about 12-21km if they ain't got faction scram.
my nos goes 19km so i drain them dry, gun go up2 15km odd and doing 3.9k in the stabber just burn through them. got 9.8k shield and well 1 crow wouldn't get through that 2 quick. [/url] |

Signed. w/assault launchers, T2 if you can use them. You could eat up any frig sized ship(at least 1v1). I dont even always use precision and rarely have a problem w/ intys or AFs

If you can fly Gallente AF's you shouldn't have too much training to do to fly Gallente Inties, I've eaten many crows 1v1 in a blasteranis, fly manually (don't just click orbit) and you will always at one point get within web range (overload helps), then just web, approach and kill, so easy they just melt. (Don't forget your two drones).
If they try and straight line away from you it's just a question of speed, if you can't catch them it's easy to disengage.

I kill ceptors and dictors all the time in my Stealth bomber. Get your cruise missile skills up so missiles go about 5-6k and just wait cloaked untill the ceptor slows a bit and then unleash the cruise missiles, it will take 1 volley with excellent skills, and 2 with med-crap skills. Pretty effective interceptor killer :D and of course you can fire them from miles away so if it flys away from ya and stops shoot it again lol :)

Try a caracal with T2 assaults, bloodclaw precision lights, the best web you can afford and utilise that 10m3 of drone space effectively...

nobody in a crow engages that
I could also say 'buy a titan and doomsday him!!1112' and also miss the point.
The stealthbomber is made for that job. unfortunetaly cruise missiles are large-scale weapons and thus need some time to skill ;/

friend of mine instapoped an crow in his munnin one time, i bet you can do the same with a ruppie. just fit artileies and sensor boosts and use EMP ammo. just shoot him as soon as he warps in and you should be good,. if you dont get him at first try moving in one direction instead of approaching and he will be at a slower transversal speed every once inawhile and you can pop him then.
another strategy would be to fit a bunch of damps, but that would gimp your setup and i assume you are trying to pirate, not just kill crows.
you could also try going somewhere else. doubt he's gonna follow you _____
