See a lot of Amarr on the boards butą
Its been awhile sense I have tried an Amarr character, and although I think the characters are fineąą.WhatĘs up with the ships?
Is CCP sure they want the vast and overwhelming majority of Amarr ships to have only 1 or 2 med slot? Where these ships like the last thing on the ōtoodoö list and stuff was left off?
Where does my Shield go? Where does my Afterburner go? Where does my Sensor Booster go? Where does my ECM go? Where does my <countless other things that fit in the Med Slot> go?
Its almost as if its some kind of CCP joke regarding the Amarr ships. *looks suspiciously at BoB.
I donĘt mind a ship with different abilities or finding a different way to use them, but with just 1 or 2 (if your lucky) Med Slot its almost impossible. The med slot is used for twice as much stuff if not three times as much stuff as the low slot! (Least so far I have seen, or had the need for).
Amarr have nice looking ships, but considering they have NO Shields, are constantly JAMMED, and some even have less armor and hull that others of the same type, plus no Shields. *bewildered look.
Maybe I just need a little help from the Community, so where is what I am running into:
1. My ship has less shields than everyone else so I have to turn on Armor and Hull mods using power earlier then they do. 2. I have to use Laser Guns which use more power than every other ship does. 3. I have to choose between Afterburner, Shield, Shield Hardener, ECCM/ECM, or Sensor Booster for my MED SLOTą(which one do I put in the ONE SLOT?) 4. I have about, if not less CAP than every other ship, but I use more power (any solution besides Vamp that only seems to works at close range, and let me guess <itĘs a med slot mod>)?
I really donĘt understand this, and have not figured out a way to get around these issues. I mean, IĘm no great player or anything but am having difficulty even in lvl 1 missions : P IĘm guessing at the current rate of difficulty Ill need a BC or a BS for just lvl 2 missions. : P I think those at least have 2 or 3 MED slots : P
So I guess my question is (non-pvp); How do you run a ship with just one or two Med Slots without- 1. Getting overrun by everything cause your slow and have no Afterburner? 2. Get Jammed by everything because you have no slot for ECCM/ECM? 3. Keep running out of CAP cause my ship is a Cap Sucking <insert colorful remark here> and guess what slot the CAP Booster fits in? 4. Have difficulty using your Armor and Hull repairs cause they use so much cap cause your shields drop instantly cause you have none.
PvP- IĘm guessing here, but there is no way you can PvP with these ships, right?
Some fresh eyes looking at this from a different perspective might help and come up with things or ideas I cannot think of or donĘt know about. Cause I honestly cannot figure out what CCP expect me to do with just 1 Med slot and any decent lvl 1 missions, that constantly send you into the PvP zone (0.4 or lower).
Should I just train another race ship, cause these appear to be broken?

amarr mainstream stay as amarr laser ships and just have to use energy neturalisers and NOS instead of just NOS
khandid amarr decided they liked the look of sansha ships better and changed their designs to reflect 2/3 missile and 1/2 laser setups.
might see more missile armour tankers ( khandid ships) now calderi peeps might have a reason to amarr skills up

First off, Amarr ships are not shield ships... That's the start of your issues... Just tank armour, they all have good armour, so you're pretty set there...
I can only assume you're talking about the Retribution as that's the only ship that comes to mind with one midslot... The other Amarr ships have 3-4, though I don't think any other than Pilgrim/Curse have more than 4. For PvP, you need a scram and a cap booster. Other mods are optional, but it's preferable to have a web and a propulsion device, or a sensor booster or ECCM mod of some variety. 5 mids is a good PvP number, but Amarr ships lack this.
All Amarr ships lack the cap to run guns and other mods, so you're right there. Basically, before you even think about PvP, you have to have Energy Management and Energy Systems Operation both to level 5 for that little bit extra cap, and Controlled Bursts (I think... The cap-for-guns skill) to l4 or l5.
For missions, caldari are the best race... I can solo every level 4 mission apart from Worlds Collide in my Drake, which is fully t2 apart from the missiles... I have about 2mil total SPs in Caldari specialisation, so that's really saying something... I know that a t2 Nighthawk can solo Worlds Collide, whereas an Absolution/Astarte/Sleipnir would just fail.
Depending on how long you've been playing, I'd change to a different race. Caldari for PvE or Minmatar/Gallente for PvP. Amarr have been needing a buff for a very long time now and it's just not coming... Changing some of the t2 ships to missile ships is a nerf as all Amarr pilots spec in lasers, and the NOS change is a massive nerf, killing the Pilgrim and Curse. The only remaining good Amarr ships are teh Absolution and the Archon. I've got one and am training for the other... As soon as that training is finished, I'm going for minmatar as they're by far a superior PvP race...

Never fit shield mods on amarrian ships... you may as well quit.
As for pvp, i used a retribution for months pirating, just fit a scram - its got a nice base speed and locktime - and be in at least two man squad to even out tackle mods.
In general amarr have nice base locktimes and so, half the medslots you mention are irrelevant...
The curse/pilgrim are the only real amarr medslot users as far as tackle and ecm goes - they have 5+ medslots.
If you need setups, name any amarr ship ill give you a few tried and tested over 2 years.

Hey, you can fit shields on Amarr ships. I did it once myself. Granted I got blown up in short order, but it can be done!

If jokingly mentioning BoB in a post means you lose credibility, theną.Oh Well! Its just a game, get over it.
Its just a stupid post anyway and only cause I cannot figure out what the heck to put in the Med Slot! Mostly cause I only have 1, or 2 of them at most.

Amarr used to have the most awesome battleship in the game the gankageddon, you would fill the low slots with heat sinks and then your highs with mega pulses and your mids with sensor boosters, oh those were the days.
Now we have the abaddon, the best bs in the game.

All in EvE knows amarr ships are crap...only (carrir and CS can stand against others, but training for those just to have 1 good ship....damm)would love to know this beffore i made my caracter. And traning to another race is just a pain in the ass.
Just don't change modules...ships.... CCP!!!! FIRS OF ALL MAKE EVE WILL WORK NORMALY, without lags and issues all the time. Lag will kill this game!

The punisher, an amarr frigate, is fantastic for mini PvP, it can fit a tank that basically perma tanks other frigates and enough firepower to really hurt them, with an AB and cap booster in the mids and 1 small nos in high you have oodles of energy and can hit 700 m/s. I am relectuant to put EW on the punisher as without an AB you are insanely slow and a cap booster is simply an essential item for amarr ships.
also you can put 4 nos in highs, cap booster in mids/warp scram, in the lows 2x SAR II's, DCII and ANP in the lows. Find a drake in low sec and cling on to it, almost certainly they will not be capable of killing you even with drones out = ransom time (they don't want to hang about till a real pirate comes long in a real ship) :D got a few drake "i have moar sheeld than yoo" pilots like this after my attempts at breaking their shields utterly failed.
