At the moment I don't look at the ship I'm flying too closely because the turrets look fairly ugly, and on many ships they look like they are randomly distributed. Are turrets changing when the graphics are upgraded? If they looked even remotely like they do in the item thumbnails they would be a lot cooler. ________________________________________ <("<) <('')> (>")>

I have to put my /signed here.
Hopefully in the graphics update, battleships sporting battleship sized guns will actually look like they have something resembling oh... say.... guns on them without having to zoom completely in on them. In fact, we should be able to tell without too much trouble what type of guns are on the battleships from a good distance away. (and the artillery on the Minmatar ships should be monstrous)

Missiles that don't magically launch out of some unidentified spot in the middle of my ship would be nice too. I'd love to see a realistic looking launch, with the backblast ane everything.

not sure about any other missiles, but t2 rage torps always come out the front of the ship

Yeah, those are the only one's wich look semi-decent right now. Ofcourse, they still come out of the middle of the ship, they just get a nice initial trajectory.
They should make all missiles behave like this then add 0.5 secs to flight time to compensate for it.
As for the turrets, the bigger guns look okay, and small blasters look nice too. It's only the "guns on sticks" of some small guns that look wierd....

The guns mostly only look weird on small ships like frigates. They ain't too bad on cruisers and BC's imo. As for battleships then I can't vouch for it on Armageddon and Apoc as I'm flying an Abaddon and they did a really good job on that on, as the turrets look like they are fitted into "slots". --- Member of the Danish Evefan.DK corp |

Once upon a time they all did do this...then the Great Missile Nerf happened.

Would also love to see missile hardpoints with some kind of graphical reference, along with other modules like remote damps and energy emission weapons. -------------------------

I like them the way they are. Their size makes sense, considering all the battleships are several kilometers long.

it real life who hard is it to see a large turret on a battleship? in eve right now te guns look about as bug as normal medium guns. ----------------------------------- I'm working my way through college target CCP

Wouldn't it be nice if faction turrets had their own gfx? Like you fit True Sansha lasers and they're all spiky and cool. Serpentis could be black with green lights on it...how nice would that look on your Vigilant?

Maybe have missile launchers appear on ships like the market icon? Big ole arrays for torps and cruises.
Oh, and the unguided launchers (Rockets, HAMs, Torps) should swivel to a trejectory to intercept target, while guided launchers are stationary and the missiles find their own way.

Medium rails on a Brutix look like little sticks. Either give me the PG to fit large guns or make them piddly little guns bigger. I want graphics for missile launchers, tractor beams, salvagers and NOS too. And a couple of billion isk on my account would be nice too!

here's the thing - somebody did a little bit of working out, got out their digital tape measure and slide rule, and they actually realised that those guns are entirely the right size
as in, the 425mm railgun model has a barrel that appears to have a caliber of 425mm.
the guns are exactly the rights size - the ships are just colossal. - The game is not the problem. The problem is that you are not adapting to the game.

Guns are as comparatively big as in real life. Look at real life BS.Then compare rememberign that BS turrets ahve 2 or 3 Guns usually and are encased ina huge bullwark armored structure.

Whether they are the right size or not, they still look ugly as hell. Large blasters are almost a cube with a cylinder from it. The only larger sized turrets I don't have a problem with are laser turrets, but they still could look nicer.
Turret hard points would look nicer if there was a slight depression where the turret sat, so that the barrel would peak over the edge. On say, the megathron, it doesn't look like it has any hard points, but turrets are still stuck in weird places like the edge of the side thingies hanging off the front end. ________________________________________ <("<) <('')> (>")>

The look the the turrets themselves? What about the turret effects???? Misses, glancing, wrecking hits... stuff like that. I think thats way more important than how the modules themselves look.
But please address both CCP!

I think it would be amazing if CCP could actually model the tranverse speeds on the turrets instead of having instanta-snap to target animations. Imagine your 1400mm artys slowly raising into position to fire, followed by a nice big "whomp" as it lobs the shell.

They just need to make the combat look sweeter... look at KOTOR. Its basically a turn based rpg.. but you cant tell because of tje animations and awesome effects.
Eve needs that for immersion... walking in stations isn't going to help our pew pew.

If you are talking about ships and how they look why not be able to paint a skull and cross bones or...a saying like "ruptured duck" or to change the paint scheam a bit. Now that would be entertaining. Who care about the friggin guns, I have turned off all effects and turrets. It helps with lag too.

Much truth here. remaking turrets, while cool, should be damn low on the list of things to do for just this reason. I'm sure they've planned something good for the next big update in regards to turrets.
