Read alot of stories (amusing ones mostly) in here and one thing sticks out to me.
Pirates telling of ransoming pods.
People!!!!!!!! in empire nobody should ever get podded. i mean EVER!!!
Its simple but obviosuly alot of you dont know. When you know your ship is going down, have a celestial object as your selected item at the top of your overview i.e station, planet, stargate etc. even when your ship is still in hull click the warp to button (in the selected item box)repeatedly, click like youve never clicked before. Once your ship goes down carry on the clicking and you will be safe (insta warp).
Im yet to know anybody that has been podded using this method.
Save your pod and stop funding piewats. There naughty

Oh if only it were that simple.
Everytime I lose a ship the celestial object I have ready to warp to on my overview seems to reset itself and I have to reclick it in space to get the "warp to" icon to activate. It allways bugs me especially when the icon for jumping through a gate never seems to have this problem.

I've read that you can reduce the lag from your ship being destroyed by turning off the blink for your mail and wallet.

If you forget to hammer warp to while in hull, you lose your pod. Lag gives you more or less 0 chance of survival if the enemy has anything smaller than a cruiser.
There's also ways to avoid having pods get away, by cancelling all points on the target as he hits hull. Hopefully in his last few seconds alive he'll be unscrambled and all the hammered warp-to's get delivered to the ship and not the pod, leaving a pod that's lagged to all hell by his pretty explosion.

Eject from ship -- when your in hull they probably wont notice, and keep shooting your ship, works better than waiting for it to pop.

I would say this is rather insecure method (I cant think of a way you could warp your pod out this way faster than you can with spamming the warp button) and easy way of giving the killer a free ship, instead of just some random free mods.

this should be stickied.
i lost a lot of ships in 0.0. but i only get podded in laggy fleet fights or in bubbles.
most important: click like youve never clicked before
once i kept clicking for 5 minutes because it was so laggy but still saved my pod :) ____________________________________________

If the person is an idiot and lacks the ability to escape in his pod in game then i gguess he could yes. Although whenever someone does that it makes them look like a tool tbh.

I love doing this. It generates a nice long pod mail.
I also like to imagine the look on the victim's face when he logs in to find himself in a new clone.

Edited by: Jogvan on 07/08/2007 23:16:29 Well, I think most people who read the C&P forum know about this already anyway.
I¦ve only got podded once in lowsec, and that was because I was spamming the dock button (with agression) instead of the warp button
Edit: It's just dumb to eject from your ship before you die, but you're welcome to do it. Always love to get free ships

Eeh, not really.
Last two times i got podded was because of lag. I started spamming warp to a station when almost in structure, than everything froze for about 10 seconds and i was in a station with a fresh clone. Petitioned it both times, got my implants back once, the second time they said there was nothing about lag in their logs (both situations where the same so that's a bit weird).
So now its ctrl-Q everytime when i lose my ship and logging in as fast as i can to save my pod. And I dont care if people are not happy with that, that's their problem

I've gotten many podkills that I otherwise would have missed if they had not logged off. For example, I had 6 or 7 frigates chasing my stabber around, I popped 5 of them as I recall, by the time the second one went down my alt already had a probe analyzing, got 3 logoffskis to top off my evening.
And by the way, I rule you.
