1) Can you upgrade your power grid? I'm flying a Merlin and have 2 missile launchers, a blaster and a railgun, but there's only 40.25 max power, so I can't have both the rail gun and the blaster online. I looked in the market but could find only capacitor and shield upgrades.
2) I'm on the 14-day trial, and have 5 days left. But I'm going on a 2 week road trip. If I let the trial expire, and then buy the game when I get back, will I have lost the character I've been playing during the trial?
thanks in advance..

1. first problem here is you have a blaster (short range) and a rail gun (long range), stick with one. Yes, you can increase your pg with reactor controls and power diagnostic system, but marginally on a frig. Micro auxiliary power cores are for frig boosts but take some time to train for
2. no, you can pay for it when you get back. I think they keep trial characters for like 40 days or something like that. You should be ok.
3. when your in the station looking at all the agents, it will say their lvl and they're quality next to their name. It will also say whether or not they are available to you. When you increase your standings with a corp more agents will become available.

On the power grid issue: Train more levels in engineering. Each is a 5% boost to the power grid. If that doesn't provide enough then you can start to look at the modules the other named.

Edited by: Gloria Stitz on 08/08/2007 17:24:10 It might be politic to start a new character with a less obviously fascist name.

I don't think it's nearly as "obvious" as you claim it to be. Maybe he's 18 and from Africa? Besides, that wiki article you linked doesn't mention anything about C18 being in Africa. It reminds me of when the band 311 started to become popular and people were saying they were rascists. Besides, that wiki article you linked doesn't mention anything about C18 being in Africa.
"OMG! The 11th letter of the alphabet is K. 3 X K = RASCISTS!!!"
I was a "punk" (SHARP actually) for many years and I have never heard of them in fact. What I remember most about the "faction" seperations was that SHARPs didn't go to skins shows, skins didn't go to SHARPs shows and EVERYBODY went to straight edgers' shows just to drink, smoke, do drugs and just **** the Xs off. signature removed - please resize it to be less than 120 pixels in height - Jacques([email protected]) |

To get back on topic again;
Understand that there are different sizes of weapons, also the short range ones use up less cpu and powergrid. Making a setup is all about making choices; there is no way to fit it all so you have to decide what's more important for your strategy. There are skills like Engineering, electronics (advanced) Weapon Upgrades that help your fitting.

Hi, I'm Afrika 18...in response to the person who thinks I've got a fascist name: I was totally unaware that there were any **** connotations to the number "18". I got the name years ago from a friend of mine who had a Dungeons and Dragons character that he named Afrika 18. I thought it was a catchy name and have since used it frequently as my online name. I have no intention of changing it. I followed the link to the wiki thing about Combat 18...first I've heard of it, but rest easy...my online name has nothing to do with any fascist organizations.

One last detail on this one, be sure to set a LONG skill training before your account expires. Skill training will also continue while you account is inactive. So you can use that road trip to get something nice trained up to level 5.

Edited by: Tkar vonBiggendorf on 09/08/2007 17:13:17 Yes, currently training skill continues until it completes, even on suspended accounts.
Officially, characters are kept for 6 months. In practice, no characters have been deleted since the game went online years ago. You're safe for your vacation.
In addition to the modules mentioned above for powergrid, train the Engineering skill. (Edit: ahh... someone already mentioned that.)

I only gave you advice in my first post, nothing more.
