I think, the Skillingmatrix needs a renewal or improvement. The effect of a skillslevel, does not stand in the relation to the involved time and costs. This is sensible especially with specialisations.
For example:
Medium Energy Turrets give per level 5% more damage. This counts to all levels. (L1 û L5 = +5% more Damage)
My suggestion: L1 = +5% L2 = +5% L3 = +6% L4 = +7% L2 = +9%
Medium Beam Laser Specialization: L1 û L5 = +2% more Damage
My suggestion: L1 = +2% L2 = +3% L3 = +4% L4 = +6% L5 = +8%
One can apply this matrix to all Skills. I think, that it had been fairer a lot and the players would be motivated for the skilling of the highest skilllevels.
What do you think?
P.S. Sry for my english

Working as intended. Keeps the gap between the 3 year veteran and the 6 month noob smaller.

32% vs 25%
You want the skill to provide a 32% bonus to damage vs 25% bonus to damage at Level 5. If your going to sugest a change at least make it the same total bonus, otherwise people will not agree its a good idea. Your suggestion would have effect to many things considering everything else would have to be changed to account for that 7% additional damage.

Clearly that was just an example. A lot of things had to be adjusted.
The point is: look at all the advanced skills. They cost a lot, have high prer-equisites, consume an enourmous amount of training time and yet give only 2% to 3% improvement at best.
That's rather discouraging therefore I support the idea.

I want to add: use skill not skillpoints to beat people.

Personally I think the current system works rather nicely. It forces you to make a very difficult decision: is that extra boost by training a skill all the way to 5 worth it, or would you be better off at 4 and training other things?
Take the Battleship skills as a great example: training from 4 to 5 might take a month, while training from 3 to 4 only takes a couple of days. If you're just doing PvE, you can probably get away with only going to 4. In PvP, however, that extra boost may well be the difference between life and death. Your choice.
Some skills you MUST train to 5 as a prerequisite for other more advanced skills. If you're just dabbling in the area, you won't be willing to make that extra effort and will never get the advanced skills. If you're serious about being really good in that area, however, you won't think twice about it. That will give you a big advantage over those who only have a passing interest in that area.

think this is a good idea if they set in the dps stacking penalty for beeing more then one attacking the same target..
to prevent the focusing fire...
else i think this idea is really good since the dps is too low as it is now. some gank setups on the same type of ships don't even have the abillity to kill each others topic worth reading http://oldforums.eveonline.com/?a=topic&threadID=569893&page=1sp idea[/ |
