A grand idea is to introduce a range of Interdiction Bubbles and an ECM Burst bonus to expand the utility of the interdictor. Interdictors have become primary targets thanks to their ability to catch Capitals and prevent an enemy fleet from escaping - it is only fair for their role to be expanded somewhat to make this risky profession somewhat more worthwhile. Indeed it takes a lot of skill training to be able to use an interdictor and accordingly there should be more reward for using them.
Firstly the ECM Burst Bonus - Dictors fitted with these should get a bonus to ECM Burst Strength, Optimal Radius and Falloff AND a skill based Cap usage reduction and the ability to fire it ever 5 seconds - this will increase the odds of a dictor escaping close range encounters and indeed will make it defacto jam everything within proximity.
The new probes - only one type of which can be loaded into the dictors solitary bubble launcher at any one time - will give interdictors outstanding versatility without overpowering them. The are as follows, with each being distinguished in space by its colour:
1. Stasis Webification Bubble (Green) - with an area of effect identical to the Warp Disruption Bubbles (20km) and a velocity reduction of 50% (can increased by skills)
2. Sensor Dampening Bubble (Orange)- with an area of effect of 20km and sensor range and scan resolution reduction of 50% (increased by skills)
3. Weapon Disruption Bubble (Red)- with an area of effect of 20km and 50% reduction to Turret Tracking and range, and 50% reduction to missile launcher rate of fire within the area of effect.
4. Spatial Disruption Burst (Purple Burst)- with an area of effect of 15km (can be increased to 45km with skill training) and having the effect of rendering a cloaked ship visible for five seconds(but not lockable) only to the dictor pilot - this will enable dictors to be the only ship capable of hunting down a covert ops. One would still need to get within 2000m of the cloaked ship to decloak it. This will not be overpowered since the dictor will have to know the approximate location of the cloaker. Indeed a covert ops will be able to warp away!

I should add that apart from the ECM Burst, the Dictor would be affected by the bubbles in the same way as any other ship - albeit with the ability to initiate warp before launching the probe

So long as only one bubble can affect an area at once. Otherwise, imagine the bubble camps. Webbed, Scrammed, Turret Disrupted and Sensor Dampened, in other words, utterly screwed. -------------------------------------------------- ICE Blueprint Sales |

Hmmm... True. A good point. However there are ways around this and reasons why one is unlikely to be webbed, scrammed, disrupted and dampened all at the same time.
Perhaps these additional bubbles could be mineral intensive though perhaps not to the extent of the new Bombs - say 250k - 500k isk a pop. Make use of these new tactical bubbles seriously degrade cap on the dictor for each one launched and increase the rate of fire. In addition they could be given a short duration of effect compared to Warp Disruption Probes, say 10 or 15 seconds. This could also be combined with an increase of Dictor Sphere Launcher reload time to 20 seconds.
Thus it might be expensive to have a large number of dictors in a camp gang - which would be necessary to web, scram, disrupt and dampen all at the same time. Indeed the new bubbles would hurt the ol' wallet after a while due to high rate of fire, short bubble effect duration. In addition because the dictors will all be within the area of effect themselves they will be similarly affected and doubly vulnerable due to the cap cost of using the new probes. The long reload time would also stop the dictors being overpowered. Use of the correct bubble would be dependent on good intel.

Cost wont prevent anything, any fleet camping a gate will drop all 4 if anything remotely combat worthy jumps in. -----
