Ok guys....put me out of my misery or at least direct me to a thread that answers these, please!
1. What is the significance of yellow/white cans/wrecks in space? I originally thought that yellow indicated stuff owned by someone else, but I have seen "white" wrecks/cans that have nothing to do with me.
2. I need someone to explain to me the significance of 0.8 space and 0.5 space. I know they are important with regard to the "protection" afforded by Concorde and the prevalence of 'rats but am slightly confused as to the exact details. I have tried to search for references to this but with little success.
Thanks for helping.

1. Yellow ones belong to other corp / alliances. Same for the wrecks. 2. The big differance between those is the reaction time of concord.

Presumably the only REAL difference between 0.1 and 0.4 space is the strength of the 'rats as you are not afforded any protection from Concorde at all?

2) As you progressively get lower in security standings of a system, your security progressively gets lower. On the flip side of that, the lower the systems security the better the bounty on the rats and the better ore to mine. What these factors are, well, you'll never see a cruiser, battle cruiser, or battleship rat spawn in a .5 or higher security status system. Going lower .1 up to .4 you won't see battleship spawns, and in 0.0 security, you'll see battleships on down the line. As for ore, well, i believe the best you'll find in High Sec space is Omber, and then it works down the line. The rats you'll see in a .5 system compared to a .8 system will definitely give a really new player a run for their money, but if you look at the bounty's on each you'll see a significant difference. Same with low sec and null sec.
Spanking or being spanked... it's up to you. |

Hm.. as far i know the 0.0 -> 1.0 Zones simply indicate in my opinion the strength of "pirates/rats" or what we wanna call them.
As well as how much presence there is of Concord.

Edited by: Serious Desire on 09/08/2007 13:25:34 Concord does not protect you in anything .4 or lower. Gate guns and billboards will fire on criminally aggressed characters though.
**edit you are free to kill in 0.0 though, no gate guns or concord there

1.) yellow wrecks belong to someone else if you right click on it and press "show info" you can see there which person it belongs to. white wrecks are your own, i have seen some wrecks which are white ones and not mine but didn't checked them out as it happened only once and i was in a hurry but my best guess that it is someone who was shot by concord or some faction police.
2.) 0.5 to 1.0 security status systems are high sec. systems here if some one attacks you without any provocation concord will attack them, in 1.0 system concord will come in no time to kill them wherever they attack you while in 0.5 system they will come but only after eating their donuts :)
also rats strength in belts is not much in these high sec. systems and it increases as you move on towards low security systems.
also ores you get from mining in high sec. are most common ones and not much profitable compared to low sec.
so you see low sec. has most of benefits except you got to watch your back more closely out there. Holiness is in right action, and courage on behalf of those who cannot defend themselves, and goodness |
