I think the problem is Poitot. The system spends so much CPU on rendering the name of that system that nothing is left for any of the others!

Yeah lag fights (more appropriate term here than fleet fights) are a total fail for me. I want to lose my hard earned ship in a fight, not to lag. Grind isk for a week to pimp that batmobile of yours. Go to a lag fight. Warp into the fight to see 3 pictures: warped in, half in armour, station overview. yay the joy.
I have honestly no idea how anyone can enjoy such thing. People are amazing.

Yes lag loading.no target on overview when u do load in you find u lost ship cant warp for 5 mins in fleet battles.
if this was a scratched cd, we bin it.
Lag over the year's has goten worse, my self i gotten now to the point why am i paying for this,
i have been around since 2003 and the promise has gotten old, petion r rubbish.
and agreed feeling like being robbed.

Adago is right on here, they need to re-order their priorities. As a software developer my priorities shift every time the phone rings with the report of a significant bug. I can understand that each department works on different things but if they are all programming in the same language then it can't be that much of a stretch to divert some team members to a more important project for a period of time
To give you an idea of the kind of lag we are talking about:
ATHLON 2800XP
1GB RAM
nVidia 7600GS 256MB
Fleet Sizes ~150/~40
Time to load grid: 5 minutes
Highest Framerate after grid loaded: 1-2 Frames per minute
Lowest Framerate after grid loaded: 1 frame per 2 minutes
Yes, this is graphical lag. All effects were off, player lists were off, all windows but gang/squad were minimized. Flashy indicators were off. Overview and fleet window were closed. All graphical settings were at minimum and sound was off.
They need to get the new UI out ASAP, this is just horrendous. I upgraded to that video card recently from an ATI Radeon 9700 Pro which is not nearly as good as the new one and the performance in EVE really didn't increase much.
