Today's story is about the Aura AI, which you encounter every time you log on to EVE, and about poetry, which you do not. Given the vociferous discussion on my narrative techniques on the last published piece, I'll add that this one, too, has a definite point to its structure and flow.
And in two weeks' time, if everything goes well, we start with Black Mountain.

Abraxas, once again you astound me, your writing is more flexible than a rubber band.
You have surprised me, and outdone yourself another time. Well done and thank you. ----------------------------

Very well done. By chance are you going to do another story, perhaps about Kaoli and his reactions to what happened when Excena released her translation and the following events?

hmmm, what bothers me especially in this chronicle is; the illustrations look more and more the same like WoW and let's say "standard" cg illustrations. i enjoyed the rough and and dark style of vitoc, aurora or the methods of torture for example, much much more. while i'm aware that every illustrator got his very own style i regret the cartoonization of the last ones.

As always, a great read. I loved the the style and pacing of this chronicle.
My only criticism would be that the ending of Excena's biography, explaining how she was offered the task of recording voiceovers for the AI on capsuleer ships seemed like a bit of an anticlimax. I would imagine that such a mundane task of voice-recording would be below such an individual, especially one with such an artistic character and religious sensibilities. It didn't seem to add up to me. Essentially, the character in the chronicle became too large for her presence in-game.
I am being unfair? Have I got the wrong end of the stick? Or is this simply on of the many valid ways of interpreting this work? |

Abraxas. As a writer myself I was one of the critics of the reverse chronology in Summer Breeze - I said it didn't work for me. No such reaction this time, this was simply perfect.
Barah expressed some really thought provoking sentiments but I disagree with him on one - I think a poet can be a Chronicler. Or, based on this, maybe I should that a Chronicler can be a poet. Beautiful work.

If this game had nothing good going for it, I'd still come back for the chronicles.
The chronicles and the depth they give to the EVE verse bring this game so many levels higher than any other.

This is a literature-class piece of work. The concepts entwined in it are thought provoking at a level beyond that of merely the game, though the setting of EVE soul is wonderfully worked into a crucible for the story.
Poet Abraxas! I look forward attentively to your next offering :)

QFT.
I do love those.
Add's that extra bit of deepth, to something you really havent given much of a thought before (at least in my case).
And - Which dont *need* it either, to do their function.
That voice could have been "that voice" forever, and EVE would be the same.
Not anymore.
I love those stories
