This ship as well as the mineral compression nerf is coming our way. The compression nerf will hit 0.0 in a real bad way and the Rorqual in its present form will not be nearly as good replacement. Higher price on the low ends that are shipped out to 0.0 from empire will make baby jeeeeezus shed a tear due to the increased grinding of ISK/mins it will entail.
Now, how to remedy this? CCP appearently wants players in 0.0 to be self-sufficient when it comes to minerals. As it stands today mining low ends is incredibly ineffective use of playtime in 0.0 - noone does it unless its a real emergency. With the Rorqual CCP now has an opportunity to make it all better.
Pretty pretty please give it a dedicated bonus towards using veldspar/scordite/plagioclase (or other lowends) crystals! All of a sudden there is an incentive to use this ship both in 0.0 and low-sec but leaving the Hulk etc. to mine higher-ends due to its bonus to all mining yields.

If it gets a bonus to low-end crystals, can it also get turret slots, or the ability to use strip miners too? Plzkthx.

wouldnt it be better to create new types of asteroids instead of making it very complicated with bonuses on lasers/ships/mining crystals. how about low-end rocks that give 50% or more in minerals. and also spawn all types of low-end rocks in 0.0. as it is now some 0.0 regions get veld and scor but not plagio or pyro and vice versa

In 0.0 space there are heavy veldspar, scordite, pyrox or even omber or kernite. The heavy roids produce 2 times as much material as their empire counterparts do for the same volumn.
Allow the Ore Capital to fit "Capital Mining Lasers": Capital mining lasers - only allowed to be fit on ORE class ships mining ammount - 1000m3 Base time - 300sec Able to fit veldspar, scordite, pyrox, omber and kernite crystals
Capital ice mining laser - only allowed to be fit on ORE class ships mining ammount - 5000m3 cycle time - 500sec
Skill: Capital mining equipment (rank 4) - 5% decrease in cycle time to all modules requiring the skill.
Capital Ore Ship bonus +50% mining crystal effect/level
At level 5 250% increase to effectiveness to low end mining crystals
Low end capital mining crystals are 75% increase with level 5 in cap ore ship the crystal would increase yeild 262.50%. Capital Ore ship mining laser 1000m3 * 1.25 (mining 5) * 1.25 (astrogeo 5) * 3.625 (cap mining crystals) = 5664.0625 m3 per 300sec * .75 = 5664.0625 m3 per 225sec (per laser)

That's if you get someone to actually haul it all before the cans pop or something equally bad happens. Also drone regions don't have hauler spawns. [ insert fancy sig here ] |

Well, right now there is no reason to have it in a belt instead of a POS, happily doing its thing in complete safety.
If it could hoover asteroids in industrial mode, not only would it give roaming gangs good targets, but it would also make 0.0 logistics easier.
I think this is win/win.

this ship isnt ment to mine, its ment to refine on the spot and allow for players to clone jump to it, and then pull out their hulks, and let the cap indy ship use its mining foreman gang links... not to sit in a 0.0 belt tank rats all day, and mine veld like a tiny azn sweat shop worker...

The compression nurf will be a serious blow to 0.0 production. A good 0.0 production line will propably eat tens to hundreds of millions units of low ends per day. Changing compression rates from 400:1 and some to 5:1 is gonna be a pain. If you had to freighter in trit every 2 weeks, you now have to do it 40 times per week... Think about that... Well, relly it only means that Titans will be in a bigger demand for titan hauling. That will be pretty... ___ P.S. Post with your main. Mind control and tin hats |
