Is eve going to be available to linux anytime in the future?
And has any one tried to run eve on linux using wine?

Last I heard, Eve will run under WINE, but it's choppy.

WineX doesn't support DX9b yet... AFAIK.
EVE uses code from DX9b.

It does run with Linux - at least here it does ;)
I`m using Cedega to run it - Lets say it works ... but thats about it ;)
Cant say much about speed, on my system its running slow as hell but i figure its because i only got a AMD64-3000 with 1.5 Gig Ram and some GeForce 6600 i think ... and running dual-monitor setup ... and VMWare running in Background ... plus LOADS of other stuff running ...
Well, i can sit in the station and do everything fine .. the cursor is a bit borked but usable ...
Check the Cedega-Forums - there is a Eve-Online subforum - maybe you get some more information there

I'd also like to point out that EVE runs on 1024x768 minimum.
Cedaga users have reported problems with the UI (non aligned buttons, etc) when running EVE in less than that resolution.

Edited by: Dunghole on 27/10/2006 19:04:46 i use cedega on mandriva 2007 and it runs exactly like on a windows system. The speed is practically the same, my machine is an athlon xp 2500+ with 1 gig ram and 6600gt gfx card, playing in 1280x1024
