Edited by: Twyt on 18/08/2007 17:42:36 I'm looking for ideas on a good fitting for missions in the harbinger. This is what I have so far. Any suggestions?
Highs:
7x Focused Medium Beams w/ infrared, multi 1x med nos
Mids: 1x named AB 1x named web T1 2x cap rechargers
Lows: 1x med armor rep 1x 800mm rolled tung. / membrane 2x heatsinks I 2x CPR I
Edit: I only have around 1 mil SP so I can't use any tech 2. I'm looking for a level 2/3 mission runner.

I would go with two mission specific hardeners. With hardeners over a plate and a CPR, you have less to repair but you need to repair less. With a plate over hardeners you have more time before you warp out, but more damage is taken.
It really depends on whether hardeners will allow the tank to suceed or whether you will have to flee anyway and want to get as much time as possible.
Before you start thinking outside the box, try thinking inside of it. |

I would go with Pulses due to the better tracking. Since you might not have a lot of drone skills, the beams will miss a lot when enemy frigs get close.
I'd also drop the second cap recharger and get a tracking computer. Set your next few skills to be +cap and +cap recharge and you should be okay.
If you want to keep the second recharger, you can put a tracking enhancer in place of the second heat sink. Extra damage and RoF won't matter when you can't hit anything. -----------

Highs:
7x Focused medium Beams (named) with Microwave, Standard and Multifrequency. Gradually switch to heavy beams as your fitting and gunnery skills go up. 1x Salvager or nothing.
Mids: 1x named AB 1x named web T1 (as good as you can get) 2x cap rechargers (Named ones! As good as you can afford)
Lows: 1x med armor rep (try to get a T2 one as soon as possible) 2x Rat specific hardeners 1x EANM 0-2x heatsinks I 0-2x CPR I (as your capskills go up, cut down on the CPRs in favor of heatsinks)
Dronebay 5x medium drones (something that's effective against your particular type of rats. Either Thermal, Kinetic or Explosive).
The basic idea is that you open up at range with the microwaves and try to eliminate frigates and destroyers at range. Once the frigates are dead or within 20km, start firing on the cruisers/battlecruisers. Keep your drones in the bay until everything has targetted you, then unleash them and work your way up. First targetting frigates and then attacking cruisers etc.
I don't like pulses in missions (except on battleships) since you have to let them come so close. A key aspect of the harbinger is eliminating a large portion of your enemies before they can attack you effectivly. Pulses are for PvP and Ratting. ______________________________________________ -You can never earn my respect, only lose it. It's given freely, and only grudgingly retracted when necessary. |

search is your friend.
but on to the setup... 7 heavy pulses nos/tractor/salvager(up to you)
AB 3 cap recharger II
marII heatsink II eanmII 2 specific actives beta cpr
drones to suit will run almost constantly with most crystals. you should let the drones pop the small frigs and things that get too close, and kill everything else with the guns. you can alternately drop the eanmII and use another specific hardner, thats a preference thing Meatwad FTW |
