Yesterday, Eve Financial Services (better known as FIN) became the first public investment to pay out over 100 Billion Isk in dividends.
The current cumulative total for Isk paid out stands at 100,293,978,225 Isk.
Thank you to all the investors that offered your trust over the last 11 months and to all of you that bought mods that FIN produced.
Here to the next milestone.... 1 Trillion Isk
Sincerely,
Eefrit

congratulations!...
does this only include dividends that actually went to shareholders? or also the dividends that flowed back into the corpwallet (or the trustee-ceo) that held most of the shares in the beginning?
Impressive either way though!

Thanks EMFi. To answer your question, this includes only dividends that flowed to investors wallets and excludes any that went back into the corp wallet. It didn't seem fair to compare what went back to the corp wallet.

I think FIN just beat ISSO to the mark, but I will leave it to Stins to correct me on that if I am wrong.
We were still the first to actually announce it though

isn't ISSO an alliance-wide effort (or at least very multi-person from their ipo literature)?
it could be said that at the alliance-level, they've hit the mark first.
while on a more intimate level, eefrit did.

I find it hard to beleive that you have paid out the almost exact dividends for months now. I mean with 200bil isk your telling me the only differance between July and August was 100mil isk. The only thing in Eve that I could see giving you exact same divies every month like this in NPC trading, and even that you would screw up and miss a day, or such and change the divies some. Has anyone done an audit on ISS lately or ever? -----------------------------------------------

If I want to be pedantic (and I do), I would need to point out that FIN and FIN-U are really the same corp, as they are both bond investments into the entity generally known as 'Eefrit'. Now ISSO could claim that the outposts were the same, however the outposts were seperate entities altogether, which can be proven by the fact that ISSO bought shares in them back, while we all know a company can not buy it's own shares. Any of the accountants out there can confirm this
So, if I look at it in accurate accounting sence FIN: 100,293,978,225 FIN-U: 23,894,315,300 Total: 124,188,293,525

The whole argument is kind of pointless, TBH. I could start up a 20-trillion-isk IPO and dividend 500b tomorrow. Doesn't mean I've accomplished much, does it?
Still, big numbers are neat. Now quit fighting, boys, and go outside and play. It's a beautiful day in Jita.

Write me up a proposal... 525bil isk. Starting June 1st 2008. I figure if i get the write up for it now, start advertising it, by time I can start it I should be able to sell it out in a day. -----------------------------------------------

Hey now, I said it was a good question. I'm not nearly hardcore enough to manage that much money with anything approaching a reasonable rate of return.
The real question is, can any ONE person manage THAT much money and managed even a 2% return? At what point does someone adjust their expectations when it comes to returns on LARGE sums of cash.
p.s. You could always just give me the money. I can't promise any returns, but I like looking at my wallet and seeing big numbers. Your return is the knowledge that you made me smile?

Please send me details to my EVE-Mail account. Don't worry about formatting, grammar, etc. I just need to know raw data before I can get an idea for the hours that will be required.
The IPO creation process is a two-way street. Also, we'd have to discuss my fees and expectations for both parties. After that, I can draft a Statement of Work (SOW) to be signed by both parties. AFTER all that has been done, work can commence.

I think the only way you could get away with doing 1tillion IPO would be multiple group of say 100bil. Kinda like what ISSO did, have one part Market, one part loans, one part development etc. I doubt there is one part of even that could return a decent return on 1tril.

Sounds like a challenge to me. TBH though I don't think I could use 1 trillion isk solo. 525b should put me close to maxed out and enough stress lol. If I start to hit 20 percent divies on 500bil I could always expand :) -----------------------------------------------

I disagree, especially given context of this not starting for half a year or so. 500 people with a billion isk to spare probably wouldn't be all that hard to find now; given the amount of inflation and genuine wealth creation that will occur in the next six months, I have no problem believing Proton could sell out a half-trillion-isk IPO in 24 hours.
