Got this breif idea. How about making it possible for an corp officer to almost start any industrial job. Like one want to build a T2 ship, the bpo is in hangar and all the materials. But this officer dont have the skills for this BPO. But you know one in corp that does, but he is not an officer and dont have access to everything (t2bpo and materials). So how about this officer can put in the materials and the bpo into the factory, press a buttom and the job will be "pending". Then the member can just come with he¦s skills and press build/start and the job is underway.
Allows industry members to help corp even that they aint trusted with access.
Now you cant really hire a builder without giving him stuff that he can steal frome you.

Edited by: Delnadres Courthelia on 19/08/2007 19:58:38 That's a neat idea. I don't understand what any repercussions might be, and it sounds like it could easily help progress a corperation (say the intrustrialist spent all their time with improving mining, refining and building skills so can't use Cruise Missiles or Citadel Launchers, next thing you know you could have one person producing the materials everyone needs to get right back out there doing some PEW PEW.

You can make a manufacture division with an officer who have the skills... You can lock BPs already. You just need to transfer the right amount of minerals to the manufacture hangar and have the job done. It's just a matter of organization in my opinion.

as i se it i dont think the hangars are that good to devide up big amount of materials. having many ppl working with the limited amount of hangars is hard. and when you cant start jobs frome containers it can be a bit messy some times.
sure it is workable, but as an officer to try and keep order it is more problems.
if officers can "lock up" materials so it only can be used for it¦s purpose. (x amount of that specific item). then an officer can always have "clean" hangars and have controle of members building for corp.
IMO there is always a risk when you need to give a member access to things. why not just allow the member to start the job and never toutch the materials or the bpo/c. that way all hangars can be locked 100%

You might want to hire people you trust and accept to delegate responsabilities and share profits. It is an organisation problem... Someone with high production skills doesn't stay poor long believe me, so you'd rather give them incentive to work with you rather than ask them to push buttons and you care of the rest.

Indeed, you need to realize how much profit makes a producer. Stealing minerals for someone with PE5 or better skills is silly. Look at this screenshot if you are not convinced:
brutix
It costs less than 20M to make a brutix if you buy the minerals and it is sold 24M+. Why would you steal? Your problem is more to explain the producers how interesting your corp is and why they want to join you.
