Does anyone have any idea what the population % break down by race is? Is Caldari the most popular?

Then I looked at the Amarrian ships, went "OMFG WANT PLZ" and created an Amarrian character right there and then. Never looked back.

I should have done the same, dammit!
Time to make an Amarr alt.

I should have done the same when I had the chance TBQH. It is a bit late now though. An alt just doesn't fill the void. ---

Sad but true, every time i fly through high sec, is see soo many caldari ships - especially in the systems with lvl 4 agents - Drakes & Raven¦s everywhere. Makes my Eyes bleed. When i go low sec and 0.0, I hardly see any caldari ship (some ECM ships, but very rare).
And yes, everybody, his neigbour AND his dog rools a caldari char. also very funny, that everyone says they didnt know anything about races, they just rolled a Caldari Archura or - in former times - - Deiti nearly by pure accident.
I¦ve choosen my race...well...errrmm... for the good look, since Amarr Khanid were the only one you could dress completly in black (yeah, been a goth when i was younger).
Of course amarr ships sucked very badly with low skillpoint and knowledge, not to speak about the Khanid ones, thats why iam trained to use a dominix tio make Isk,while bringin up my skills to use amarr ships propperly.
Never learned to use a caldari ship bigger than a frig, and I never will. And being proud on this.

Since you can train any skill on any race, it doesn't *essentially* matter. I'm sure, if given a 'do-over' button, many of us combat guys would ditch our high-charisma Gallente chars (whoops) and pick a Jin-Mei/Achura.
I'm stuck with my attributes as I'm far too old to reroll. Oh well, I guess it'll come in handy when I go for command/leadership stuff I hope.... __________________________________________________ FOLD. The Ultimate PVP. It really is Us vs. Them. clicky |

Read the race description for Caldari Civire and tell me they are not the coolest boys in town. I started my first char, now a mining alt, over a year ago and then I made my choice. Caldari are the capitalists we all want to be.
Now, Amarr are easilly second on my list since they actually fight theire hearts out for something they believe in. Gallente and minmatar fight for freedom, yay that does not feel sooo yesterday, no sir.

If I have a screw to screw, I use a screwdriver. If I have a nail to hit, I use a hammer.
If I have a level 4 mission to run, I use a Raven. If I have a player to kill I use a nano-ship.
I use the best tool for any given job.

Yeah, that¦s why i fly a dominix, not the best "Tool". but, hey, I am Amarr, so we can¦t always be up to date and highly efficient, it¦s already very progressive to fly another races ship - for an Amarian.

I would be more interested in seeing how popular the ships are. For example, how many Dominixes are there in hangars all over the universe in comparisons to Ravens and the rest?
Should be pretty easy to dig out from the database...

Yah, along with all the other inventory and trade stuff (anonymous and only semi-regionalized of course). I'd love to see how many clone ravens/domi's are sitting in high-sec mission-runner constellations (and deep 0.0 too). Probably quite a few;)
Heck, most-common fittings (or a scale even) in any given ship class would be both possible and informative too, I assume. __________________________________________________ FOLD. The Ultimate PVP. It really is Us vs. Them. clicky |

You could probably sit at a couple of the most popular trading stations and count the ships for a few hours for a good idea of the %. Use a ship scanner for the loadouts

I think the ships used in 0.0 is quite different from the ones in the trade and mission runner hubs. It would be interesting to see some stats on it. :)

Edited by: Chrysalis D''lilth on 22/08/2007 10:56:45 Alot of people pick their race based on its description.
Neither Slavers or religious zealots are appealing to alot of people. Amarr are associated with alot of what people see as wrong or evil.
On the other hand, gallente liberalism, minimatar fighting for their freedom from slavery and caldari who have a strong regimented militaristic lifestyle are much more likely to appeal to more players.

http://ineve.net/skills/racial_stats.php is the base of that numbers. But because there are lots of players not listet on that page ( and that more than the listed one) its truth is only marginal.

Facts on the stats:
Being Caldari race the most common means the population of EVE is carebear. Being myself Ni-Kunni makes myself to feel special. Being 75% males means 50% of the EVE population are ****ers.
