I have a new, fast computer with a 1920x1200 display. On my screen, the bitmap fonts used in EVE are unreadable except with a magnifying glass. I see no way to change this.
Running at a low resolution is obviously not an option because pixel interpolation makes the whole game look terrible on an LCD, and it screws up secondary monitors on dual-display PCs.
Are there any plans to fix this design flaw so that people with new computers can actually play the game? Either vector-based fonts or larger bitmap fonts would do the trick.

I run: Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 2.4Ghz P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe Mobo 2GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 800 dual channel ram XFX 8800GTX graphics card BenQ FP222WH 22" Widescreen LCD monitor.
I run the game at 1680x1050 with no problems at all. Perhaps you should list some of your specs if people are to try and find your problem.

I have a 24" high-resolution wide screen monitor. The fonts in this game use the same number of pixels no matter what resolution you use.
The end result is that the better your monitor, the smaller the fonts in the game. This is a fundamental problem with all software using fixed-pixel fonts, though most software has been updated to the point where this is no longer an issue. Is there a way to make the fonts use more pixels? If not, are there plans to fix this bug in the game?

Increase the font size. There are buttons for it in every chat window ingame.
CFW (Certified Forum Warrior) I kill people ingame too.

The only buttons in the chat window are transparency, minimize stack, minimize!, text, small portrait, big portrait, hide list, member list, delayed list. Nothing about fonts is present.

Occasionally they have been known to dissapear. However, if you mouse over the areas, you will get the options. They are right next to the big portrait, etc buttons.

Well, you could get a pair of glasses or run at a lower resolution.
Personally I have no problem with the chat windows at 2560x1600 resolution, and I still use the default font size.

I have a 24" Dell Widescreen (and know several other people that do aswell) and run Eve at 1920x1200 with zero problems. It looks great and is completely legible.
Like the other guy said ... glasses maybe ?

Edited by: TomParad0x on 25/08/2007 21:39:52 Alright, I just turned my game settings back up to 1980x1050, using font size 10 on the general (First tab) on the settings page. I also use the smallest font on the chat, and I have no problems what so ever reading any of the fonts. However, I noticed on the General (First tab on the settings page) tab there is a font width type option (Center column, bottom set of options), set to condensed it is kind of hard to read - is yours set to this? Mine is at normal.
