Desync's are not the same as lagging.
If you lag, the best thing to do is wait, wait and wait some more (Chances are if you are that lagged out, your ship will warp off and warp back in when it reconnects).
With desyncs, nothing on grid loads up, nothing goes on but you still register hits taken and appear on other peoples overviews, you don't warp off like you would if you lagged out entirely, because you still have an open communication with the server.
Relogging is the simplest and quickest solution. You cant lock, you cant see, you cant warp, you cant do anything. At least with lag it affects -everybody- desyncs seem to vary from player to player.

twas a bad day to be a raven
props on the cap kills
battleship count atm SRA (Smash Roadkill Atlas, all there was)kill 44 - mindless drones kill 22 (actually more cause i know peeps ain't posted all their kills)
Both of us had mass crashes, we were the ones who jumped into your gatecamp with all your drones out don't forget. And that killboard battle report don't tell the full story. At the start of the fight the numbers were even and we had no capital support while you guys had your carriers and dreads. Our caps only jumped in at the very end.
I can agree that the 'Drone Alliance' capitals only went in towards the end. I'm not sure at what stage ours where part of the battlefront, however im told quite early. To have an accurate view of how things looked, we had approximately 175 in gang, 150 in system, after 5-10 minutes into the fight, our gang had dropped to less than 50. I don't know what the 'Drone Alliance' looked like, but when I logged back in on my Main, there was 383 in local, 58 in gang. You do the math, our 'solid gate camp' had been desynced to death unfortunately.
Props to bringing it however, it was definately enjoyable for the most part. Just a shame that these issues have to cause such tension and problems within our game universe.
Xeno
Then your folks must have panicked in the lag and logged, same used to happen in ascn but anyone who has been in the lag quagmire fights knows the right thing to do is to wait, wait, wait till it loads.
You dont drop gang or vanish from local when you desync.

Um. yeah, we all knew FREGE would show up, that isn't really a concern. We were kind of expecting it or this would have been a 3 day non-event.
Weren't quite expecting Invictus and OXIDE who we allowed to anchor POS's in our space for jump-points to start shooting blues without warning or even trying to get us to stop first. (They asked we might have). So now we have more targets \o/.
Our diplomats and alliance leads were talking to your diplomats and command last night trying to sort this. Sadly no agreement could be reached you were notified that a standing reset had occured. 5-6 hours after that reset and notification by us and you guys still had us blue. That is not the fault of our command but yours.

So whats with the smack?
You outnumbered us 2-1 at the initial jump in. Then 2/3 of us, the smaller fleet, d/ctd staring at the loggin screen. We still put up a hell of a fight and inflicted some nice kills.
Be humble in your victory, next time the lag gods might favor someone else.

When we jumped in there was 160 of us (60bses) on the gate and 110 of you (50bses) on the other side, you had the bubbles and fighters assigned (big help in lagfests) which we hadnt.
Also rich lecture about humility and no smack... have you read the posts of RK people in the start of this thread? Have you read local smack before the fight started?

If you desync the only way to fix it or be useful is to relog. Nothing like being told the enemy is too far away to activate any module on while they are actually right next to you....

I got in some kills and died, so it would've been a great battle if both sides hadn't lost to the CCP lagfest.
Local never passed 350 as far as I saw, and I'm just amazed that the node can't handle that.
I saw the first pilot jump in, got in on the kill, and then my overview never updated again. I relogged and stared at the black screen for half an hour... with only 350 in system? WTF?
I'm not a fan of smack or a fan of lag, but I still had fun on this one.

INVICTUS never engaged either Smash or Rk while blue. We abhore that, it's the kind of crap which Atlas pulls, not us.
ATLAS never engaged anyone blue without provocation, we donĘt smack in local and we don't do something as unbecoming as that. OXIDE yesterday engaged smashkill/atlas while blue to us all and was assisting IO while under the guise of our blues, we never engaged OXIDE till after yesterdays engagements when we realized on loss mails they had engaged us (they were blue, they never showed on our fleet OV's).
As for IVC, when you hot drop carriers into a system with mixed blues/neutrals (neut to you) you are making a hostile move of intent against those within the system, naturally we (ATLAS) responded in defense of our friends in local to the hostiles (IVC) that came in to attack them. Despite IVC being blue we were not going to sit by and let you simply trample on those we were otherwise there to assist and for that matter IVC knew we would assist them if you engaged them in there space. So spare the idiological blue-on-blue smack attempt, it holds no water.

Imperial Order were brought into MAD over two months ago, giving them the same status as any of the above, plus a few more who will doubtless join in the fun soon.
As for what you've got in store, we're looking forward to it. Although we'd still rather be fighting BOB which had been, until now, our top priority. I still don't quite get why SMASHKILL are being so hostile to us when they could be sending fleets north to help RAZOR, MM etc against BOB pets. But that's just me I guess.

I'll think you'll find it quite the opposite with smashkill we've never been happier to have so many targets and not having to go 30+ jumps north to get a fight.
