Fellow capsuleers, in my recent travels I am witness to a great distress in our community, to which CONCORD currently turns a blind eye. Salvage thieves run rampant, lurking in core empire systems to grift the fruits of others' labors, reaping where they have not sown, and breeding discord with impunity. I am reminded of a time not so long ago when the same was common with spaceborne canisters full of ore and other valuables, and therefore moved to defend the property rights of every honest pilot.
The pervasiveness of this plague of scavengers in and around the Motsu system begs my attention, and with the blessing of my fellow trustees, the Interstellar Aid Society [INAS] shall be declaring war against an admitted band of thieves and extortionists, Racketeers [RAK]. As the only combat-ready member of the Society, the odds are decidedly stacked against me, with public records showing my enemy numbering 107 pilots. Until the bureaucrats in Yulai enact sanctions for immediate retribution against such scoundrels by the aggrieved parties, war is the only recourse in defending your salvage rights.
Currently, five other organizations have declared war against [RAK], no doubt to send a similar message that thievery, fraud, and extortion are unacceptable. I implore the law-abiding corporations of each nation, particularly those who patrol the densely-populated systems around Motsu in the Caldari State, to join me in relieving this menace of their ill-gotten gains. Indeed, I shall continue to engage these thugs for as long as my personal wealth allows, so as not to diminish my fellow trustees' capacity for good works with corporate funds.
For those of you who join me in the crusade against this band of rogues, I shall make available to you all intelligence I am able to acquire regarding their membership and operations. Assuredly, I look forward to joint operations with any who will accept what aid I can offer.
Please feel free to report other corporations guilty of similar activities. My patience for thieves has run out.

Your idealism is admirable, Mr. Zek, but we have already discussed this issue, so you should be well aware that at present you do not have my blessing on the matter. I implore you to reconsider, or at least postpone this action until you have resolved certain personal issues that do not bear further mention here.
Whatever you choose, I will do my duty for the sake of the Society and her allies, but I hope you are not plunging us into war for any sort of personal vendetta. We all despise thieves, but I urge you to apply a modicum of conventional wisdom in your decision, in that you cannot stand alone against a fleet. For now, it is enough for the mercenaries to hunt these thieves. |
