So I like many others hit lag storms and the issue I have is when I jump through a gate and warp+cloak there is a big delay. Half the time I will hit cloak just once after clicking to warp, and it will tell me Im still cloaked and not cloak me. Only for me to find Im now targeted and its game over. If I spam it, more often than not, it goes on then right back off again because of the multiple requests.
Something to solve this issue would be a prompt to ask you if you really want to turn your cloak off once its on. This would make it so that us of poor or unstable internet connection can warp and cloak just as well as anyone with a good connection by spamming it from the get-go until it works.
Furthermore this would help for when someone accidentally hits F1 (as is default on most) instead of the escape key or the number one, or like I've caught a few people having done, accidentally clicking cloak. Any number of reasons, it'd be nice to have a warning just like most other things that are going to get you killed give you a warning. With the typical "never show this again" option ofcourse for us who blunder less. |

I'd be happy with a alt-ctrl-f# that only turns a module on or something like that. You could spam that and never turn it off. |

Not for nothing, but with all this high tech awesomeness, they cannot do one simple thing?
The manual cloak should not be blocked by the gate cloak effect.
If you hit the cloak button, just like if you pick a direction, it should activate, and transition between the cloaks.
With players dealing with lag, this goofy game of whak-a-mole being played with a cloaking button needing to be hit at the exact moment the gate cloak releases is incredibly ridiculous. |

Yeah, I Iike the idea of being able to cloak straight from the gate cloak. Having to move and guess when the right time to hit the cloak button is bad game design. |

The last thing I want added is another popup asking me if I'm absolutely sure I want to do whatever it is I just told it to do. |

Hence why I wrote that there would be the customany "never show this again" checkbox. |

Wait... I got this crazy idea, someone else I think inspired it with a comment involving ctrl alt...
Make the decloak a seperate button.
The big problem we are having is that it is a toggle, and we are trying to activate it. If it was already planning to activate, but was not registering this, then we shut it off without meaning to.
Cloaking ships are already soft targets, and handing a kill mail to someone because of lag on our client is probably not the intent of the game. |

Cycle-less modules should have some sort of lagless method of use, particularly since you don't have the cycle time to react to accidental deactivation, and in the particular case of the cloak, being decloaked is a very unfortunate thing. Popups for doing that are... unfortunate, though. There should be a better solution, like the separate "decloak" button. Maybe split cycle-less modules into two semicircle buttons -- one for turning on, one for turning off.

Absolutely not. Cloaks (particularly using the cloak-mwd trick) are already "easy mode" for getting past gate camps. Even with lag, client syncing ensures you don't have to do the silly "whack-a-mole" you describe, because you have these nice and easy F keys: double-click in space, followed by F8, or wherever you put your cloak.
Transitioning cloaks into each other would give gatecamps virtually no chance to catch any cloaky ship unless they have 15 frigates all with clouds of drones following them, all orbiting the gate at the same time -- and that's for the smallest of gates. As is right now, gate campers have a split second to see where the cloaky ship was when it vanished, then a mad rush to try to decloak it. Only the lucky or practiced (and preferably both) can really pull it off consistently. At least let them have that. |

No.
You make it sound like having a cloak is an I win button for people wanting to avoid fights. Hardly.
There are many simple ways that gate camps catch cloaked ships. Popping cloaks is VERY easy, since you know the ship gates into a specific range from the gate.
Fast ships with drones orbiting them simply make passes at areas, and nowhere near 15 are needed for this.
If they actually spot the cloaker for even a split second, they know exactly where to send the drone swarming ships, making the cloaker's escape chances quite slim.
I know. I pay attention when they catch me, how they did it, and there is no practical way to avoid this tactic yet. |

Okay, I may have exaggerated the "15" figure, but I have only once been caught while executing the cloak-mwd trick, and that was because of my own stupidity and pilot error.
Maybe you just need to stop jumping into exceedingly competent gate camps |
