Edited by: Grendelsbane on 28/08/2007 14:26:06 Yesterday I did the NPC mission where you go through the "toxic cloud". And you know. what? That really looked pretty freakin' cool. That's probably the first time in EVE that I've actually been surprised and impressed.
So - how about some more interesting types of space? Why does everything have to be all the same, all the time? People have asked before about having different areas affect your sensors and whatnot (like near the sun, etc.). Gas clouds? Radiation? How about some solar systems with accretion disks, novas, or red giants? It would be at the very least be visually neat flying about in the outer fringes of a red giant.
I think it would add a nice tactical dimension if here and there you had different areas within systems that had various sensor/targeting effects, maybe even hazards. You could have each race affected differently based on the sensors they use - LIDAR messed up near the sun, for example.
No need to overdo it - heck, even if odd things in systems, or entire odd systems (like the red giant, etc) were relatively rare, they'd be pretty cool.

I'm actually in the process of doing that. However, how often do you interact with pilots in those places? And how long do they last?

Exploration complexes last until they're "completed" - basically, once you preform a certain action they despawn as soon as you warp out. And if you interact with other pilots in them, it probably won't be a pleasant interaction. ------------ Whiners - Unite! | Posting and You Tarminic - Forum Warfare Specialist. |

Hell, the cosmos constellations have some grade-A nifty sights to see. Take a tour around some of them and check out the beacons.

Exactly.
I'm just asking why the everyday space that the vast majority if us fly in is all so similar, aside from differnt colored backgrounds.
