I was running 3 clients before deployment of patch and now I can only run one. I had the same issue last time when patch was deployed. I am running XP , the last fix that worked was to set up 3 different user profiles within XP . This worked well . Now it no longer works. Heres hoping someone has a similar situation and a fix. Thanks in advance people

Yes I have same problem. 2nd client launched as "run as different user" quits immideatly after splash screen.
Making 2 directories of EVE and running it as /end /LUA:OFF temporatory helps.
But if you still want to run a few clients as different users, I afraid it bugged in this patch.

Thanks for the input , I will give that a shot. I tried that fix last patch and it was a no go. Different users resolved my problem last patch. Looks like we are moving backwards :)

Anyone have an update on this? I've been away pretty much since the patch, and until now I've always been able to run two clients.
I'm currently running two copies of Eve, in two seperate directories, with two seperate windows xp local user accounts (runas, etc), and like this:
"C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE ALT1\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF
I can run either singularly, but if I try to run a second, all I get is an exefile.exe task for the user that never allows login/etc.. crashes after splash screen.
I can have as many as 10 or more of these processes, or I can reboot/kill procs and start over.
Either one works seperately, but I can't seem to find a way to run both. Anyone get it to work?
I've paid a fair amount of monies to play a couple of characters simultaneously (mainly for salvaging/looting with the second, but sometimes to be a one man group for tougher missions, etc) and I'm pretty unhappy that I can't benefit from my second account right now.

My box is a core2duo @ 3.6ghz with 2gb ram, windows xp pro, geforce 8800gts. Until the latest patch, I could run with two install directories using the switches listed doing 'runas' on each instance as different windows logons. I ran them at 1024x768 windowed mode on my 1920x1200 dell 24" display.
Now? Somethings not working.. all I did was install patch on each instance. They work independently, but whichever one I try to use secondly will not work.

Well you certainly should have enough oomph to run the 2 clients.
One thing have you tried turning off the soundcard settings on the options menu. there could be a conflict with the 2 clients trying to access the same card at the same time.
just a thought
