I am having frequent disconnects and this is so annoying and this is only since Revelation 2.2 patch. CCP changed something that made this game almost unplayable for some of us.
I petition it and still waiting for someone from CCP to respond to me. This is UNACCEPTABLE that no one has responded from CCP to this problem that more than one people are complaining about.
The monthly fee (real life money) that i am paying has nothing to do with ingame issue. I am asking for support to get my game working properly. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE.
CCP WAKE UP your CUSTOMER SUPPORT or you will eventually loose me as a paying customer.

I'm seriously thinking about canceling my subscription. Seven crashes in less than 15mins. Always in the exact same spot...warping into a mission. Can play WoW and CS:S just fine so it's not the internet connection. Nothing in my setup has changed, so it's on CCP's end. Corp mates been talking about it for a while, I only just experienced it myself tonight. Unreal.

could you guys who are getting this issue download pingplotter standard from www.pingplotter.com
the dev posted the i.p for tranquility to trace somewhere on the 2nd page, 3rd post from top.
I am getting 100% packetloss from these two servers, which are #18 and #19 in my list, the # in the list isn't significant i just put it in to show one follows the other. And sometimes no ping reply from those two servers.
ve5.fr4.lon.llnw.net, ccp.ve201.fr3.lon.llnw.net
let me know if you get the same type of issue, and if so with what servers. -- Greater Love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.

CTD while warping is due to an audio error. Disable audio and you will be fine. Any other errors, keep posting here.

i'm having random BSOD's since 2.2 originating from the Realtek HD Audo Driver. seems to happen mostly when going to warp.
and daily disconnects since months where the server cannot be found for about a minute (my connection stays up during that, because my iptv box runs during that disconnect without any hangs, and my routers log deosnt show anything, so connection is stable)

Edited by: Eszencia on 03/09/2007 07:35:15 My main - me - got disconnected approximately 10 times yesterday while my alt account didn't have a single problem, even when running each individually. I was perplexed to say the least, and also pretty miffed when I lost a ship.
I also had issues with the fitting window, when I put modules on a ship they stayed red and none of the stats changed, had to relog for it to update. Needed a few times just to fit a frigate right.
Edit - fyi I don't have audio enabled.
Suppose it's something that I'm not alone with these problems but damn they make playing the game difficult.

sharky: I run a trace with pingplotter using there UDP method (cause EVE is using UDP right?
anyway, the result is the route is fine, but at the tranquility I.P pingplotter is saying destination unreachable (100% packetloss) obviously because the destination is unreachable. For some reason your server isn't accepting my connection, and maybe some of the other players here who are also having trouble. If possible could you look into that? Throw this around the office, what could cause the destination to be unreachable when the route is fine all the way to that destination, what is the final destination doing or replying, that I cannot connection to it. -- Greater Love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Also getting regular disconnects here. Have 2 accounts that are run on the same computer. Cable internet provider is Cablevision/Optimum Online (15/2 Mbps). Using wired connection to the router (100.0 Mbps). No luck trouble shooting on my own so far. Only Eve disconnects. Internet, ventrilo, etc. remain connected. I've pinged Tranquility (87.237.38.201) from the Command Prompt and it shows no packet loss. Here's my specs:

Edited by: Aaron Mirrorsaver on 04/09/2007 03:17:34 it should be the same graph, are you getting any red highlighted areas saying packetloss when you do the ICMP one?
see same problem for me too. 100% destination un reachable on the tranquility i.p
also I am able to stay connected for longer now, but still having issues, there proxy's must be messed up, a whole bunch of people had issues today and some dev said he couldnt see anything wrong, then he came back like 4 of his own posts later and said there appears to be a problem with a proxy server and he had to do X Y or Z, anyway so I think there are more problems obviously that they are unaware of.
still having connection issues, but i can play for about half hour to one hour sometimes now, sometimes it'll disconnect me one after the other quickly.
im using a dsl modem wired to a linksys wrt45g just like yours. no problems before the patch. or with anything else. -- Greater Love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Ya, Aaron. The graph has 2 spots at Hop 7 & 8 with 100% packet loss. I posted a pic of the graph (edited my post above to include the link).
So this sounds like a problem on CCP's end? Not on my side?

There are lots of people having this problem (me too). So I guess it's not on your side and it's not with the internet connection.
Further observations for the devs: - I'm having these problems since the last patch. - I've never lost connection to tranquility in the morning (UTC+2). Last evening (UTC+2) there were more than 30000 pilots in EVE and I've lost the connections three or four times - nearly unplayable . - I had EveMon running on a second computer. It lost connections to tranquility too whenever my EVE-client lost it. - mostly the problem occurs while jumping or while docking, but sometimes in other cases too, even when docked. - the problem occurs in heavy crowded systems (Jita) as well as when I'am alone in a system. - other problems seem to be related to this problem. There was one case when I've lost connection while jumping, and afterwards I couldn't login any more - saw a black screen after the login progress bar. (Solved that by unchecking "Load Station Environment" in the main menu, generic tab).
Hope these infos help.

I get frequent disconnections every 2-3, it's possible to keep the connection 'alive' if I notice the game stops responding, I'll click a bunch of windows open and load stuff and it will fast forward catching back up. Not very fun to do so frequently

branca, the pic was not viewable, could you post the names of the servers you get the 100% ploss at, you right click and copy them and then paste them. wanna see if there the same as mine when I am using the default DLL instead of UDP.

Not sure why the pic doesn't work as a direct link, but if you copy and past the url into a new browser window, it does work.
The disconnects are at Hop 7 & 8. It just says Err 10 and PL% 100. The IP and DNS Name are both completely blank. Avg and Cur are also blank.

Erm i had the problem everyone was complaining about... and i think i've solved it touch wood, this solution was posted in the other section about crashes and if it stays working it's a golden needle in a haystack for anyone else who wants to solve it before ccp can get back to us.
please go to you user directory on your computer and delete the eve folder usually found in the documents of the drive you installed it, atleast for vista players.. i don't remember it entirely but it's got chat logs and gamelogs... delete the entire folder and hopefully that should solve it... if it doesn't it's something else and ur looking in the wrong place... or i'll be back on here writing a retration of the i solved it!! :/ good luck to you guys and... fly safe guys...

Edited by: Aaron Mirrorsaver on 05/09/2007 14:29:41 um 1) those files were there before this patch and gave no problems, and certainly can't cause you to discoonnect continuously, this is not a crash this is a connection to server lost.
2) i formatted my computer, its the eve proxies or something else. or are 50 different isp's experiencing the same problem at the same time just after rev 2.2? that musta been some virus in that exe file if that was the case.
sadly we cant get a reply here that this issue is being looked into that could be causing so many of us to disconnect.
we need to either be a) beta players b) member of BOB c) sir molle d) one of them has to have the issue and then the entire ccp qa department doesn't sleep until its rectified. -- Greater Love hath no man than this; that a man lay down his life for his friends.

i was told to do this to help them find the problem and wanted to let everyone else know. i was told i could post it.
I. If you are having connection issues to use PingPlotter against Tranquility's IP - 87.237.38.201, and report the results.
II. Please run the game with logserv running and reproduce the problem and send us the logserver file and the crash dump file ( in cases of the client crashing ). Reproduction step are very important part of the report. Write exactly what you did to make the problem happen. This will help the programmers see where the problem is, and hopefully make it happen on their own computers. Reproduction steps are required for your report to be useful, even if you have attached logs to your report.
Using the logserver (to minimize problems with this, its recommended that you either restart your computer or check Task managers process list for unresponsive instances of Eve.exe)
1. Find your Eve folder in Windows Explorer 2. When you have the Eve folder open, find "logserver.exe" and launch it (Do NOT have EVE running) 3. Select "File" - "New Workspace" 4. Start Eve like you would normally do 5. When you have reproduced the bug, Eve crashes or when you kill the process if it hangs, select "File" - "Save workspace as..." and save the workspace in a place you'll find it again.
III. Finding the crashdump
1. Locate a subfolder of you Eve folder called "Logs" (f.ex "%userprofile%\My Documents\EVE\Logs" 2. Find the .dmp file with the most recent time stamp. Files called rror*.txt are useless. 1. Also run the DirectX diagnostics tool: Press 'Start' and select 'run'. Type dxdiag and hit enter. When you do this, a window will pop up. 2. Click the "Save All Information" button that's located in its lower right corner. 3. In order to thoroughly test your connection to the EVE server then I recommend that you download a program called pingplotter which is available here http://www.pingplotter.com/downloads/pngplt_2.exe If you are running a hardware firewall (SPI Firewall) on your router you will need to disable it, as otherwise this program won't work. Run ping plotter and set it to trace to 87.237.38.200, this being the EVE server, then set it to run at 1 minute intervals for 60 runs and statistics to include these 60 intervals. After that then try to login to the EVE server with the program running in the background. If your connection drops while running the pingplotter program then check if you get any packet loss or unusually high ping times at any node along the way. Save the results as the sample file (pp2). 4. Then compress all files and attach the compressed file to the e-mail and send us.
