Your welcome.

Here what I think is the "problem"....your spreadsheet is rounding up the fuel required and then multiplying the result by home many hours it should be doing it and this program is keeping the decimal places. As we know EVE uses decimal places. Heres the math for your scenario for the LO calculation:
LO = (usage / available) * 75 LO = 2650 / 3000 * 75 LO = 66.25
The issue is the spreadsheet is rounding all values up (to 67) while I keep the decimal until all the calculations are done (66.25). Everything I've seen in EVE shows that although decimals are rarely shown they are always used. So when you calculate for a week:
LO for a week with spreadsheet: 67 * 168 = 11256 LO for a week with My POS: 66.25 * 168 = 11130
I'm keeping my programing the way it is for now unless a DEV can post the fuel usage on the backside and confirm or deny that it uses decimals. If it does round up each hour then its a relatively easy change.
Or someone can fuel a POS purely based on the numbers in My POS and see if it lasts the exact 1 week or if as the week goes on the numbers start going out of sync, if so it does need to be rounded.

Thing is, when I remove even 1 unit of LO or HW, the on-line time on that fuel in the POS changes by 1hr. Your numbers/calcs are off, because the time estimates I get via MyPOS do not reflect *at all* the on-line time the POS itself tells me that fuel will keep up (ie, if I put the fuel #'s MyPOS tells me into the POS, the actual on-line time for that amount of fuel is lower than MyPOS has estimated).. and at this point, the spreadsheet numbers are dead-on correct, and MyPOS is not. Sorry.

I'll test it and if EVE does not use the decimals, or more correctly does round them up I will change the code to do the same. It only is affecting LO and HW as thats the only place where you would get fractions (as its a percent based on usage) and rounding those values up to the next whole number should be relatively easy to do.

Edited by: Jonas Vinthyn on 19/09/2007 14:51:33 Yup...eve rounds UP to the next whole number so I've recoded to do the same for LO and HW. The odd thing is there are a couple spreadsheets and even QuickFit that keeps the decimal like I was so all those are wrong too. Oh well....while I was fixing that I decided to do a couple other things that were on my mind:
- Charters are now included in calcs - All the fuel tabs are laid out similar now - Can now save a towers fitting to a file and then load it to another tower. - grey out the "compare Evemail" button after a compare and reenable after a calculation to prevent hitting it over and over - Fixed the error when you do a compare evemail and close the screen or leave it blank, now jsut exits without saying it couldn't read the evemail.
File is uploaded to our website as is the source code:

Alliance mate helped me track down a issue with HW / LO calcs. Its fixed and both should be dead on now.
Will be adding SOV lvl 4 calcs in the very near future.

Just a reminder to download the newest version as it fixed the last of the calculation bugs and added a couple features. Had over 300 people download v1.0, hopefully all those people check this thread and get the new one.

750+ downloads and I haven't had any new bug reports which is a very good thing. The website showed the link to the code as 1.0.8 even though it was properly downloading 1.0.10 so I updated the link. 30+ people downloaded the code also, hopefully its helpful to some of you.

Only time I've seen this is with a corrupt program or Dot Net installation. First thing to try is just go to http://WindowsUpdates.Microsoft.com/ to make sure you have all the updates for .Net. If that doesn't work uninstall My POS using the standard Add/Remove Programs in the control panel (make sure if there is more then one copy you remove them all). Delete the directory you installed to which by default is c:\program files\My POS and download a fresh copy from the website and try again. If that doesn't work it's most likely something within your Dot Net installation, uninstall "Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0" from your Add/Remove programs and reinstall it from Microsoft's site then redo your Microsoft updates.
Or just click the continue button if that works.

I use your program for all my POS fitting and fuel needs. It is excellent.
One feature I would really like to see added would be if it would show how much fuel you can actually store in a POS.
Example would be, if I calculate out how much fuel it take to run a medium minmatar tower for 28 days, everything is spot on, but I can't actually hold 28 days worth of fuel in said tower. Would be nice to know the maximum days you can fuel a tower for using its maximum fuel holding capacity.

Yeah I have a idea of how to do this, just putting it into code form and having time to do so right now is a problem. With that said maybe in the near future I'll add that in and there will be a calculate max storage option to tell you how much you need to fill the tower. Maybe.

Someone evemailed me a slight bug....white noise generation batteries are not listed. This has been fixed and version 1.0.11 is now available on the website. If you don't need fix then don't bother downloading it, that was the only thing changed. A work around is using a guristas white noise generator in its place for fitting if you don't want to install the never version.
