So how do they prupose to make these ? possibly a bonus to damage vs NPC's ? seems like it would be hard to balance and make it usefull ?

incase anyone missed it.
Noah Ward: The other type of Tech 2 ship we haven't come up with a name yet, but it's going to be like a mission runner battleship. A huge number of our player base are not these big PvPers, they are mission runners for their empire, and you know doing their thing. While the ships will be really good at PvP, they will have things like bigger cargo bays for loot. They will have better locking times, better tracking, a lot of utility slots. Things that if you are a mission runner, what would be your ideal battle ship.

I can't see why or how they would make something better than a CNR for grinding missions. A bigger cargohold is silly, cause most people salvage in a dedicated ship once the mission is over anyway. Bonus damage to NPCs? ehhh.. It doesn't need it, tbh. It does enough to make the missions pretty easy solo.
Other races don't need a mission running ship because then caldari would truly suck balls.

Let me see here...
A BS, with faster lock time, more cargo room, and better tracking? Gatecamp machine anyone? LOL.

I think people are really looking at the wrong things he said i think the key is that they
wont be OMGWFTGGQ machines with 90/80/85/70 base resist with a 8/8/8 slot layout and a capital class fitting, jump drive and gate jumping capable.

You still don't get it.
Even with decent resists (read: command ships), BCs just can't camp gates very well. Smaller cap, and medium armor reps, even faction ones with ship bonuses, just can't rep like BS class reps. Not to mention BS sized cap, and nos. Yes, nos still works great.
DPS doesn't matter a whole lot. Not against targets smaller than a BS, which is what such a ship would be ideal at killing. Larger cargo for more 800 charges. A BS with faster lock time would be a godsend for me. Would let me catch those smaller ships.
I just hope the gallente ship isn't a drone ship, so I can use it at gates.

I honestly expect Gallente to get a drone boat mission runner (Dominix model), Caldari and Amarr to get a missile boat mission runner (Raven and Apocalypse model), and Minmatar to get a mix (Typhoon model).
This makes sense because drones and missiles are the easymode PvE weapon systems: Capless, allow choice of damage type, need the least amount of room for ammunition (or none at all), and work well against most sizte classes of enemies. With the Amarr ship having the option of being a Khanid mkII model, there's no argument against it not being a full-scale missile boat either.
Similarly, I expect the Black Ops BSes to be a Caldari ECM boat (Scorpion model), a Gallente dampening boat (Megathron), an Amarr tracking disruptor boat (Armageddon), and a Minmatar god knows what (Tempest). However, I also expect the EW part to play a smaller role than say on the Scorpion, as the ships are obviously designed for stealth (cloak) and mobility (jumpdrive), not fleet EW.
All this of course is merely an estimate of mine and based on the assumption that it really gets implemented as described in the interview, which is porbably not very likely
