Simply a MUST watch
Amazing timeline of how humans have gotten to this point of the Big Bang theory.
156 billion light years in diameter, uniform temperature due to inflation, super force breaking up at less than 1 second of the universes existence, c becoming the cosmic speed limit 380,000 years after the Big Bang, the big RIP. etc...
Just a tremendous show IMO...
It may be just our current theory, but very interesting nonetheless...
If you have an opportunity to watch it, it's worth it...

Honestly, if you have the cash, the DVD set would be cool.
I watched every episode, they were all very informative, very interesting...

It's all lies by the liberal media. The Big bang never happened, everything was made as it is by a perfect higher entity.

a friend of mine asked what was before bigbang, i told him there was nothing before big bang because "before" requires time and time had not yet started. Am I correct?

You're neither correct or nor incorrect.
The Big Bang theory does not include the before, only fractions of a second after...

Well, we don't know. I don't believe that time existed before the Big Bang, but that doesn't mean nothing could exist before then. Now, what that actually was, who knows. ------------ Whiners - Unite! | Posting and You Tarminic - Forum Warfare Specialist. |

Sorta hard to find the evidence when it isn't there.
By that I mean that it is horizon over which we can no see due to our position in the stream of time. All of our observable data begins AFTER the big bang. Could a previous universe have existed, contracted and then exploded again into the new, current universe? Possible, but good luck proving it.

If there is evidence of a time 'before' the big bang it lies outside our universe. It all boils down on how reality itself is structured, which is more of a metaphysical question at the moment.
I guess a good answer to the before question would be: Nothing that should concern us. ------------------------ I don't believe in sigs. |

please don't bring that opinion of yours into THIS thread as well...... we're not talking about that subject right now. I'll be happy to debate that with you in another soon to be locked thread, just not here. mmkay? ----------------------------------------------- "post with your main. delete your alt, you sad little exploiting metagamer."

Sounds very interesting.
We are very bad at understanding the very small, the very big, the very long and the very short!
I was watching a programme about the atom on BBC4 recently, and they were talking about Quantum Foam. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quantum_foam
I consider myself fairly intelligent, but I just can't get my head around that.
