Edited by: CrushProject on 05/09/2007 14:46:26 i do several things for cash depending on my circumstances.
I started off ore thieving. This is something you can do with nothing more then a frig and a hauler, you get good money, and sometimes get some low level pvp (but really entertaining).
I used to run lvl 3's or 4's, and with the lp stores out there nowadays that can help, even if you only ever buy faction ammo. But this can be a slow process unless you start pumping up your social stats imo.
I would suggest 0.0 ratting (it really does seem to have one of the best payouts), but you mentioned being out in the drone regions so i dunno if that would be a good idea seeing as there are no bounties on drones that ive seen, so what you might try on that end is seeing if you have an ally's territory with decent rats you can go to or something.
I would suggest a jump clone or two to help you travel long distances as opposed to paying for a whole nother account. This of coarse has limitations (only every 24 hrs) but can be really helpful.
Another thing that ive heard to be profitable, is buying up goods in jita for instance, and taking them to another region and selling them at an increased cost.
Another option you can do, whether its agent missions or ratting, is reprocess most of your collected loot and find a bp with a decent profit margin and manufacture and sell products. Hell even if you just make yourself equip this can be a nice option and it doesnt include any mining heh.
Cmon people use some imagination!

Lately I've been abusing the cosmic anomalies in lowsec. The rewards are good and the risks minimal; the orange systems have such a bad rep that nobody goes there, and the pirates have pretty much followed them into 0.0 or Empire decs.
It's a good balance for me between making a little cash in an interesting way, and there's no delayed reward like in manufacture or module reselling :)

My main character doesn't have to worry about money anymore for that reason and is free to roam around in 0.0 and kill things.

Been playing for 6 months now, i think i got more money and more skills than anyone who has played as much. In six months i got over 7 mil. sp, and almost 2 bils. isk Yeah, you can run missions, you can mine, you can rat, you can manufacture and sell, ask for randsome in low secs. But it is poor money... I am the kind of mofo that will wait for you in Empire space on a way out gate from jita, scan your cargo, jam, web, kill your pittiful ship (shuttle, frigate etc.) and get your valuable cargo (rare faction modules, blueprints, weaponry and so on...). And even if most of the players got more careful (cover ops, bc etc.), i have reserved a surprise for you. Meet you in space...

I have made an Excel spreadsheet with the best selling ones (Capacitor Control Curcuit, Auxiliary Thruster, Core Defense Field Purger, etc. ... you know, just check the market) and their material requirements. Every day I log on, check the market and update the salvage and rig prices in the spreadsheet.
Then I decide how many of each rig to build depending on which ones are more profitable on that day and type in the numbers. The spreadsheet gives me exactly how much i need to buy of each salvage material to build the number of rigs I've typed in.
It works even if you just buy the materials straight off the market from sell orders, but it's of course more profitable to buy with buy orders. And it's even more profitable if you buy them in other regions. It's a matter of convenience, and time, versus profit margin. I usually just buy them straight off the market.
You need the Production Efficiency skill at 5 and a researched blueprint though.

Moon mining and POS/capital component production, took about 4 billion to get setup but it nets me about 500 m / week profit more if the market is good.
Oh and 0.0 ratting, 50 mil an hour in good systems and its easy so long as you keep one eye on local.

Everyone has to start somewhere, once you get your first POS up and running it gets easier, the profits from the first go to pay for the second, and so on.
Btw this is low-sec, not 0.0, and realistically you need a freighter alt too.

i wouldn't recommend moonmining to a solo player, way to risky. if your pos gets attacked you'll loose everything unless you have some backup to drive the attackers off. additionaly you'd need to find good moons for a reaction and then have to have enough money to get everything running. best money would be to find a 0.0 ally that puts you blue (for a fee ofc :p ) so that you can rat, nets between 20 and 100m per hour, depending on luck and playstyle. you could also do lvl 4 missions or for starters just fly around and salvage wrecks in belts and stuff (one of the best ways for noob chars to earn their first couple of millions imo and is really save)

If you want passive income then look into research and development, blueprints and to a certain extent trade (you can turn profit from the market without dedicating tooo much time to it).
This is my prefered method of making isk as it means I can spend my time in game doing what I love, pvp.
The other option is to grind lvl4's (snore), kill rats in 0.0 (snore) or scam the people out there with more isk than sense ().
TBH though I only ever kill rats if I need sec status for some reason and I would only ever run missions if I really wanted something from the LP store and couldnt find even a remotley fair price for it.

Edited by: Dazzstorm on 07/09/2007 11:52:03 i manipulate the market buy buying an items at a low price in a region then selling them all for twice as much for a nice profit e.g if there is a region with say a booster for 200000 and theres is about 50 other units on the market going for 100000 ill buy the 50 at 100000 and sell for 200000 = cahing

Either one will net you 5-10Mil+ per hour if you know what you are doing.
Obviously you need decent skills to do lvl 4s + a ship capable of doing them (raven is probably the most efficient for time/isk purposes).
For ratting, you can get by in a drake with good skills or a raven with not quite as good skills, however, you also need a place in 0.0 to hunt. Most places are NBSI (not blue shoot it) so you either need to join a corp/alliance with 0.0 access or find a place with friendly locals who are willing to put your current corp to blue status.
Personally I prefer ratting, its more fun and the loot has the possibility of being much better

In a T1 fit Drake you can mmake 15mil hr off just bounties in pretty terrible 0.0 space. It gets stupid when you use a Myrmidon (imho a much better ratter).
