I thought it was ctrl-print scrn then open paint or something and paste.
With just print scrn it'll just print off whats on the screen onto your printer.

errrr ummm last i checked, theres a nice shiny button that states. PRINT SCREEN....

If you play windowed like me --> alt-prtsc, that snaphots the active window only.
Taking your question a step further, ctrl-f9 will remove the gui and all windows from your eve screen untill you press it again. It allows for nice shots.
you tilt the camera by holding right click while pointing around, allows you to center your object.

You're proper old school mate! I think it did print straight to LPT1: back in the days of DOS.
Nowadays, Print Screen puts the whole desktop into the copy/paste buffer, and Alt-PrtScn put he active window into the copy/paste buffer.
