Edited by: Mekk Azal on 07/09/2007 16:55:40 So I searched the eve forums for a anwser, but all I could find was guides to invention.
I have a BPO in my hangar, and at the moment I dont have the funds to build that kind of item the BPO is. So instead I was thinking about copy it and sell them on the market. Since the BPO is valueble to me, I dont want to randomly try stuff with it and accidently do something wrong. That and I am not able to logg into EVE this weekend. So I got some questions for you guys
1. What skills do I need to make a copy of a BPO? 2. If I have bad skills in this department and copy it, will the copy get a lower quality then the original blueprint? 3. How much can it cost to copy? 4. Is it possible to make copies without any skills at all? 5. Is there anything I should know about putting bpo's in public labs/factorys? (BPO goes poff if I dont take it out after rent and such)
Thanks in advance guys. Mekk

You can copy by right clicking on the BPO and selecting the COPY option.
The window that will pop up will prompt you to select a lab to use for copying (assuming you have low skills, you will need to have the BPO and yourself in a station with Research facilities). You will also have to select how many copies you want and how many runs you want each copy to be. When you select to continue, you will be given a cost for the job. the cost will vary from station to station, there will be an install cost as well as a per hour cost. Note: any lab you select will likely have a waiting period before a new job can begin.
As far as I remember, you don't need any skills (except maybe Science lvl1) to copy a BPO, however you can use skills to improve the amount of copy jobs you can do at once (Laboratory Operation and Advanced Laboratory Operation) and how quickly they are done (either Science or Research, I forget which - the description should tell you)
hope that helps.

forgot 5.
If you are starting the research from your personal hanger, then you won't have any problems. 'Deliver' the job once completed and it will put the BPO and the BPCs into your hanger. I don't think it matters how long you leave it before 'delivering' the job, though if you plan on selling copies I'd guess you won't leave it for long!
If you are working from a corp hanger, then problems can arise if the corp lets the rent expire.

Edited by: Detrol on 08/09/2007 09:56:20 There was a bug once where the BPO got stuck I believe when you were using an Alliance POS and were copying from a station.
There's another issue that might come up when you are using a BPO from a corporation hangar, the rent on the office expires because nobody paid the bill, you do rent the office again and only then ask for the delivery of the produced items. In that situation it can happen that the produced items are delivered normally but the BPO disappears. Had it happen to me and bug reported it.
Apart from that, there's no way to loose a bpo unless you a) choose 'trash it' b) keep it in your ship cargo hold and take a trip to lowsec or 0.0 c) give it away
Also be aware that after a copy job (or any type of job on a bpo), by default the BPO does not automatically reappear in your hangar, you have to go to your list of jobs, click on the one that's ready and in the bottom right a 'Deliver' button will appear. When you click it, all items (for manufacturing) including bpo are returned.
