Edited by: The Hooch on 07/09/2007 22:42:18 I was drifting into docking tractors, it had been a rough week of making contract sanctions. My ship was battered to hell, I was a physical wreck, and just plain ****ed. I was looking forward to some down time. I secured my ship and slipped the dock foreman some isk to get my repairs done ahead of the rest,
"the bastard is charging more for his <favors> lately" I grumbled to myself as I headed to my room, if you can call it that.
I got to the door and began to enter my pass code when that feeling came over me, you know...the kind of feeling where the hair on your neck begins to stand up and you know something just ain't right. I pulled my little friend out of the holster and punched in the code...
The door slid open and I rolled in landing on my knees and scanned the dim room.
"do you always come into a room this way?" she asked
I got up and said, "only when I have un-invited guests in my private quarters, who let you in? I will have his ass on a stick for this"
"leave it be, he works for us too" she said in that same voice that just creeps the hell out of me
"The client has more scores to settle and has a new contract list prepared if your up to it"
She dropped an envelope on the floor and moved toward the door, as she came into the light I could see she was dressed in leather, hard to come by in the depths of Eve space. As she walked I noticed an odd tattoo on her forearm, some kind of "old earth" symbol, I had seen it before but could not place right at that moment.
I reached out the take hold of her arm for a "closer look"...when in one fluid motion a knife came up to my throat and in a tone that scared the **** out of me and said, "don't try to grab what you can't handle little boy, your targets are KOS, TE-KA, Brotherhood of Steel and POS
She lower the blade and said "This is business, pleasure is something different..."
<note, the contract is real and paid for by a concerned party, the story is total crap >

Primes Log
Day 3
I was trapped deep within the reaches of unicron's body
There was no exit in sight
I wandered until I found a strange corridor the walls seemed to move as if they were made of flagella.
Day 4
The walls have captured me and repeatedly thrust into my exhaust pipe
I cry out in exstacy as the motor oil flows out

43 - 4 according to the killboard.
Can't find the priv killboard tho so im not sure if ours pulls from there, incase of missing losses.

Meh, ok we took our lumps and handed out a few. I am sure 43-4 is not a true picture.
I don't insist that people post kills, it conflicts with our hands off style of our alliance. I really doubt we totally hammered them, we tend to attack soft or solo targets, because this about making money from merchant ships not going toe to toe with fleets.
We are hired to be a pest in empire, not take and hold space in 0.0 . This is a business not an e-peen contest. Corps come and go, players come and go. We are kind of a vaction spot for 0.0 or low sec corps that want a break from the grid.
Tri are very good pvp'rs and they were a good challenge for us since the nerf. Very little smack and some decent fights.
Also, we post our kills at www.battleclinic.com .

Pirivateers used to be cool,(when we were in it). But the fact i flew 35 jumps though empire afk in an unfitted battleship from jita to another trade hub and onwards last week (in euro prime time indeed)when I forgot you were at war with TRI and didn't get shot at is proof enough for me that your no real threat anymore.

Why would one dec Te-ka and not Ka-tet? That to me just spells lame. Tbh unless your planning on coming out to 6H (which is unlikely) that is just a waste of money.
On that note how are these sorts of contracts handled Hooch? Do you get paid per kill or per week or something? If it is per week you can count that the isk you are getting for te-ka is going to be well and truely a good deal for you. Id doubt you will see any around at all.

seriously hooch, i support priv at what they do and your urge to keep this going. but comeon, u threw 2007 nubs at us who didn't have anything even close to guts. to have a stabber or whatever it was in nonni sit at the gate at 140km throwing stones at me in local and then warp away just aint ballsy. to try and get a fight out of you in saminer and have you do undocking games for 40 minutes is just insulting.
you talk the talk but you sure as hell dont walk the walk. meh.. bring it. 20/1 was the cora odds and this meens us chasing you baby girls around 50 jumps per day.

As I have said, Privateers has an open door policy. Come and go as you please, run solo, gang up, gate camp, or roam at will.
Nope, we don't blanket the stars anymore since the nerf many have gone on to other things. I honestly think the nerf was more scarey to talk about than it's impact. Maybe it was too easy to dec another group of players, maybe not. The facts are that we still get kills, we still get smacked, called names, and hate mail. Now that says to me that we still annoy other alliances, and are making money at this and that is enough for us.
As far as sending in noobs to fight, it is their choice to join. I tell every player and corp with young players in their fold that this is not an easy living. In fact it is hard at times, but it is fun, and fun is what this game is about.
1. Play your corp/charcter as you see fit, we will not tell you what to do. 2. This is a collective that has banded together that share a common purpose, To attack merchants and combat ships for profitable gain. 3. The alliance does not do blobs. If your corp does them fine, it's your call. 4. Each corp in the alliance drops isk to cover war-decs. No isk in the wallet = no wars, you take it from there. Suggested price is 50 million per corp. That means lots of wars. 5. CEO's may make suggestions to the Alliance leader, but in the end it is his call, they are kept secret until the targets are dec'd so as not to alert them. 6. If you want to make sure that someone is dec'd, you have to pay the fee and the target will be dec'd. 7. Privateers does take contracts, the only thing we ask is for the war dec fees, no additional charges are asked for.
There is no money in 0.0 for the rank and file alliance member, endless gate camps, 400 ship lag fests and no time to make money to even support your losses. Oh wait, I am sorry the alliance carebears will sell you a ship and fittings, but after all they have to make money don't they, so you the good little fighter just sinks futher into the hole. At least as a Privateer you keep what you kill and if you risk a ship you at least have a real chance of making money for your efforts.
NO THANKS! I will take my chances being called names by those who bailed when it got tough, or by those who don't really have a clue about what we do, and try to measure us by a code that has no real meaning.
We don't fight for glory, honor, or bragging rights. I would rather attack a defenseless hauler than a combat ship, because I am trying to make a "killing" in isk not to watch another ship go "boom", been there done that, went broke.

I don't care about the other stuff, do what you want. But that simply is not true. I've bought a station full of ships, i've statyed at 200-700mil at all times and i still have 1.5+bil of stuff to sell. I'm really lazy too, i barely NPC, i cant be bothered to mission with my alt most of the time except to buy implants from my agents, i explored for a couple of week but i'm bored of that now.
The notion that 0.0 isn't full of isk is laughable.

No offence to hooch, but as an ex-hardcore privateer, I have to say the current state of privateers has become quiet laughsome.
When looking at our killboard and see cruiser/frigate guns on a bs, makes me quiet worried. Ofcourse there is always people doing a decent fit no dis to them, but most are laughsome.
For me the real priv stopped excisting when they nerfed them, I moved on. Ofc there is other people who hold on, adapt. But priv or a mere shadow of their former self. Even for in the first months as corp they were more hated, now your just laughed at.
Hate it love it, thats what I think.

Oh it is full of isk, I agree. For the alliance leaders, their golden boys/girls and the alliance carebears that don't give a rip about the losses the fighters take looking after them. I know, when BoB came to Fountain we could not even get the carebears to supply at cost, hell... they sold thier **** to BoB and made a killing at it and ***** at us for telling them not to.
As a matter of fact it was a leadership call to attack Triumvirate, just to give the lads a cut at major league players. What did we learn? That given even terms and a choice of where and how to fight we did ok. We did have a younger corp learn a hard lesson in fleet combat but that was a good thing.
On a side note, when I left FA, I had maybe 150 million. Now after a year of Privateers, I have well over 6 billion in cash, 10 fully kitted T2 ships with faction or named fittings and more crap in cans than I know what to do with. I also help the guys buy ship from time to time. So don't tell me how wealthy you are in 0.0, I know how the game is played there.
KEEP IT!

Smaller yes, but those that get ganked don't laugh, and the contractors seem pleased with our efforts.

As a devout carebear - I loved the threat of being war-dec'd and being made to look out for them in local en route to empire and back. Can't say I ever saw them though, possibly a good thing though as my heart rate goes up to an inhuman rate and I forget what the buttons on this thing in front of me do. Suffice to say, I'm not a real pvp type of guy. Hell I don't enjoy mining anymore, but I can supply those that want to fight with modules and stuff and I've done it for free on occasion.
Privateers always were avoidable though. When Warp to 0 came around, if you didn't want to fight fit a stab or two and go hell for leather, simple as. A tactic that you could probably use today, unless you're caught in a bubble in which case you've got pretty much 0.0 chance of defending yourself because of the penalties. Still most ships are very good at one role or another, not two at the same time.
I'm taking a hiatus from Eve for a few weeks/months, but I'll be back and I'll see what I can make happen.
As for Hooch and Priv - good luck to you, your story telling needs a bit of work, but as an introduction it's not bad at all, better than most first posts indeed.
Good luck with the battles where ever you find em.

...erm, i am one of the 'fighters' im not an alliance leader, im not a 'golden boy' whatever that's supposed to mean, i'm not a carebear as i stated i simply don't put in the effort.
It's nice that you have all that isk, but it really isn't the point. Your statement that there isn't isk in 0.0 for the average joe is simply untrue.
