I'm using a 9800 pro, and I have Dx 9.0b along with the latest catalyst drivers and for some reason some of the dx9 graphical enhancements wont work. Most noticably on the space stations I get horizontal scrolling shady lines where there should be some other pixel shading going on. Anybody know what I'm talkin about?

Look in the ini file. I recall there is a advanced features you can set to 1 there. then you can disable the strange lines. /Phoibos

Add this line to the prefs.ini file located in the cache folder......
advancedDevice=1
Then when you start up Eve press escape and click on the graphics tab and you will now have some better gfx options to choose from.......
play around with the various settings and see what give's.
I have 32bit w/ 8bit alpha, multi sampling 3, 1280x1074 fullscreen mode and all the banding has dissapeerd........Enjoy

I have a 9600 Pro 128mb and enabled it as you said and got more options. What is the optimum values for the following: Depth/Stencil format? Mine is set to 32-bit z-buffer with 8-bit stencil Multisample type: Enable Multisample quality Multisample Quality: 2 (could not set it higher) Present Interval: what is best here? mine is at default atm.

Edited by: Disfigured Thief on 13/02/2004 20:39:38 Someone should sticky this in the tech forum, because I need more info on the options that this unlocked.

I just bought a R9800Pro, and turned on Depth/Stencil format to 32-bit z-buffer with 8-bit stencil Multisample type: Enable Multisample quality Multisample: Quality: 2 (could not set it higher) Present Interval: default
It fixed the stargates, from what I have seen, but stations still flickers. And, my textures have been all screwed up. I fly by some planets, and they are pure white. Also, when I am on my login screen, my charactor is naked, hairless, and has two different colored eyes. It's creepy. Any ideas? I tried reinstalling, but that was before I got the new card, it happened on my old 8500le too.

Your 250mm 'Scout' Accelerator Cannon perfectly strikes Serpentis Soldier, wrecking for 319.4 damage. |

I'm using modded drivers for the ATI. There are slimmed down for gamers and when I installed them yesterday it made a major difference to my fps. I use the omega ati drivers. Site is www.omegacorner.com. I was so impress that I donated :D

Is this function still fully available now? I can only set Depth/Stencil format to 32-bit z-buffer with 8-bit stencil
But these are no longer available to me: Multisample type: Enable Multisample quality Multisample Quality: 2 Present Interval
