The new dev blog on the upcoming rev III looks great, you can’t really knock it. The blog mentioned new ships, a new script for drones, need for speed and of course the graphics update. But the dev blog did not mention something that is dooming the game.
Log off tactics and cloaking.

My guess would be that the new dictor would have a more "cloak finder" role but I was wrong. Both of the things you mention are very hard to solve in a "fair" way. You could have a cloaker warping around in your system for hours gathering intel on what ships people usually fly, location of pos and their arrays, probing for safe spots and so on, i.e not being afk cloaking at all.
At the same time you do have the afk cloakers that should be able to find with some effort. Logoff is the same thing. Its very hard to distinguish a disconnection and a pure logoff tactics (from a code point of view)
For cloakers maybe they could add something new. I give you the "cloak emission"
Cloak Emission In order to generate the claok, the cloaking device consumes sub-space partiles to generate the massive amount of energy needed. The residue from the, sub-space particle, fuel is built up inside the cloak and emitts a small signature. The signature increases over time, making the ship easier and easier to find.
The residue is highly explosive and the only safe way to eject this from the cloaking device is during warp (it should be performed automatically when you warp). Travling under impulse drive while cloaked won't permit it. The residue also affect your impulse drive, making it unable to generate a constant stream of energy to maintain full speed, i.e your speed deteriorates as the residue builds up.
This would force cloakers to warp around at to dump the residue (there should be a bar / indicator) but the afk cloakers will just built up their residue to max, giving them a very strong signal strength and basically making them move 0-1m/s making them easy to scan down.
Just from the top of my head, haven't really given it too much thought as it all came to me as I typed in this post

I thought dampeners and capitals blobs were dooming the game this week? Or was this week macro miners and Band of Brothers? Or was it nano ships and the state of amarr ships? Drone AI and the market system? The state of invention? Privateers?
I'm so damned confused, we need some sorta guide as to what is the threat to the game for each week, a calender or something :P
